Brown will defnd some silly WBC strap and contend the vacant WBA Intercontinental belt against K2 promoted Andriy Rudenko on the Gavin vs Bundu bill (Wolverhampton Civic Hall 1/8/2014).

Don't know about Rudenko I have to say. Undeafeated in 24 but never fought outside of Ukraine. Decent opponent? What do people think?

Doesn't seem to have fought anyone but I'm inclined to believe anyone with a 24-0 record has at least a chance against Browne.

The only people I recognise on his record are Marinchev and Peret which doesn't tell us much. Doesn't look like he's been in with anyone remotely decent which tells us he may be a bit raw. His style doesn't seem too far away from Brownes, he comes forward with his hands a bit low. Slightly quicker on his feet than Lucas but then again I think Valuev is quicker on his feet than Browne! They won't have to go looking for each other that's for sure! Size might be the deciding factor in this one (Rudenko is only 6ft) and I could see Browne plodding through this bloke.

He seems to pop up on different promotions, possibly ticking away until his promotional contract is up ?

Yeah still with Hatton and it was Hatton and it was Hatton Promotions site that confirmed his opponent yesterday.

Think the deal Hatton had with allegedly has gone from having Hatton Promotions shows shown on the channel to having Hatton Promotions fighters pop up on Warren shows and shown on the channel.

Thanks That arrangement seems to be like one which stops Ricky losing money, and keeps the fighter active, and I'm sure once the deal is up Lucas will not renew it. I think they fell out on twitter earlier this year over how the deal was going....

I like Lucas Browne, seems a top fella and whilst he doesn't float like a butterfly, he does sting like a bee.

I haven't really, although I know he's more experienced, fresher and likely to expose the still raw, and too heavy Browne.

Browne will win. He's limited but he tends to always find a way to get the job done. Obviously as he steps up the levels that wont be the case but I think it will with this opponent.

Had a look at Rudenko, he's a slow, overweight plodder, maybe a bit quicker than Browne in terms of handspeed, but his feet are slower and he doesn't hit anywhere near as hard. He's been inactive in the past, taking 18 months out from 2010-2012 and hasn't fought since March last year. He's not great technically, doesn't really move his head much either and I can see him standing right in front of Browne, who isn't the hardest to find himself, and since Browne's the bigger puncher and we're yet to see any issues with his chin, I can only see Browne knocking him out, probably won't be earlier because Rudenko looks solid enough, but he's too open defensively to take Browne's punches for 12 rounds.

Man, fat heavyweights. 18-stone odd on a fella six foot tall. Chee-rist.

Thank Satan for "modern training techniques & nutrition", imagine how fat the pudendum would've been in the old days with all that low-tech training & nutrition...?
