Finally! After holding our breath for years we get the fight that nobody was interested in in the first place.
This is the first step on Audley's journey back to his destiny on the outer fringes of relevance, or maybe it isn't.

I've been reading Audley's online comments about this. His decision will speak louder than all his talk. He is critical of the purse, and of being offered just 3 weeks notice. But he's yesterdays news and literally has no credibility or future in the sport, so if an offer is on the table and he thinks he has something to offer, he should take it, get in the ring, beat Chambers, and make a statement. He has been bleating all year about being denied opportunities and being kept down. It's time to sxxt or get off the pot, Audley.

This card is shaping up nicely, isn't it?

I thought Eddie was supposed to be stepping up in competition?
I'd rather see Hughie in with Audley at this point.

Maybe Audley is being fast-tracked to a World Title shot.

Can't believe it's been almost 10 years since the famous '2005 will be the year of Audley Harrison!'
Or was it 2006, or 2004?
Anyway, nostalgia :(
2015! Believe!

I do actually have nostalgia for Big Aud turning pro, and his early fights on the BBC.
I was at university, and I used to drink beer and watch him on a little portable telly. Good times.
Pity he didn't really have it in the end.

Can't believe he keeps popping up thinking he has some sort of relevance, we shouldn't give the big fella any time of day let alone any money from tickets. I suppose people will only be watching to watch him get knocked out.

Audley is not a bad opponent for Eddie. If it's not him, I bet the guy he fights is not as good.

if anything Aud's legacy is bring boxing back to the beeb.
during that time we saw numerous highly entertaining british and euro heavy fights featuring the likes of Danny Williams and Sprott. we saw a young Carl Froch and many others besides.
Audley did this !!!!!

On the downside, we had to suffer through John Inverdale hosting the show. But, hey, can't have everything.

From Eddie Chambers perspective, it’s a perfect fight. Chambers is a skilled heavyweight who’s out of the spotlight. Why not fight Audley Harrison, who is very old, very rusty and a guaranteed draw? From Audley Harrison’s perspective, it’s a baffling fight. Harrison is very old, very rusty and a guaranteed draw. Why box a skilled heavyweight who’s out of the spotlight?
What Harrison is trying to do is take a short cut back into the big time. What Harrison has failed to realise is that old heavyweight names trying to take short cuts have a very, very, very low success rate. It has doom written all over it, and I expect to see big Audley retire on his stool, to an unmerciful chorus of boos from the savages.

I can think of 3 fights off the top of my head where Harrison didn't do one single thing. I was at one of them......there'll be loads of others where he didn't do anything that I've forgotten too. He was doing precious little against Michael Sprott too until the last 10 seconds. If Sprott had just been a bit more canny instead of giving value for money he'd have won that fight as he had rounds in the bag.
If Harrison did get in the ring with Chambers I'm 100% confident he would do nothing. That's one side of him, the other side is that I happen to like the guy

Sums it up perfectly.

A naked Audley wearing just his gold coin around his neck, could fight a Polar bear that's not been fed for a few days in my front garden and I'd still draw the curtains.

Begs the question, why were you at on then?
Was the on you were at the Haye fight? It baffled me that people went to that expecting a good fight. Harrison had been slaughtered by the fans and the media for the best part of a decade leading up to the fight, then suddenly everybody forgot that and pretended it was a good fight for Haye.
I didn't even order the PPV.

You say that like there was a reason anybody would want Audley naked in their garden.

Not sure about that any more...
He might as well fight Chambers. It's a fight, and he clearly wants to continue fighting. Plus Chambers doesn't hit hard. Audley might be able to turn it into something turgid where he can stink the place out rather than get bombed out, which is probably preferable for him for bizarre delusional pride reasons.

BELIEVE! 2014 - AUDLEY HARRISON WILL never BE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!
Every setback is the beginning of the end of a comeback...or something.

When the next heavyweight prize fighter. Least Audley won't be getting done in the first in this one. According to Peter fury Twitter Chambers almost got the Ruslan Chagaev fight.

Audley claims he is always in shape so the notice shouldn't be a problem. Chambers will knock him out inside five rounds I would guess.
