Scott Harrison was excused an appearance in court yesterday on an assault charge because he is in training to defend his WBO featherweight title on June 19 at Glasgow's Braehead Arena.
The 26-year-old Harrison denies kicking and punching Colin Reid in a pub toilet last year. Reid, 25, was hospitalised with a fractured jaw and broken nose.
"Colin got a real beating," said an insider at the time. "His nose and his jaw were broken and he ended up in hospital."
Another insider who witnessed the incident said: "The guy got a helluva tanking. There was blood everywhere."
The case was posptoned.
