Scott Harrison was excused an appearance in court yesterday on an assault charge because he is in training to defend his WBO featherweight title on June 19 at Glasgow's Braehead Arena.
The 26-year-old Harrison denies kicking and punching Colin Reid in a pub toilet last year. Reid, 25, was hospitalised with a fractured jaw and broken nose.
"Colin got a real beating," said an insider at the time. "His nose and his jaw were broken and he ended up in hospital."
Another insider who witnessed the incident said: "The guy got a helluva tanking. There was blood everywhere."
The case was posptoned.

Harrison allegedly beat this guy up just a few days after losing to Manuel Medina last summer. I have heard this guy used to go out with Harrison's bird, so there was 'history'.
If Scott is found guilty, he can kiss the baby.

I think I'm right in saying that the victim of the alleged assault is Scott Harrisons girlfriends ex-boyfreind, so there is obviously some sort of history between them.

Losing that title would probably do Harrison some good, and if he were to go to prison, he'd have to get his ar$e in gear. :o
