The Sky poll favored Bellew 54 to 46 percent when I saw it last. Who do you favor in the rematch?

OK random thoughts, happy to be shot down......Great finish tonight from Bellew, but up til then he was looking less impressive as the rounds marched on. I'm not buying his quote that he's faced better opposition. Mohammedi and Murat rate up with anything that Bellew has beaten.
Two main factors are that I think that Bellew suits CW better, always thought he looked like he was dropping too much for LHW and also I'm just not sure yet how much the Kovalev fight dented Cleverly's confidence. Barring a confidence loss (which I think is still a distinct possibility) I can't see Bellew knocking him out and I certainly can't see him outboxing Cleverly. At this point I reckon we see a repeat of fight 1. But tonight has certainly whetted the appetite.

Clev knows what he's doing on the wind-up too.

Anyone feel that this rematch is being sped along as a cash-in exercise in pragmatic acknowledgement that neither would capture world honours at CW if Eddie swung it that they were allowed to take a cattle prod into the ring with them.

Both lads know they need to cash out. Any of the top operators at cw walk through them.

Wow, boxrec crowd have seen the light.
Cleverly is the better boxer. I thought he looked LEVEL above in the first fight. He should win the second. Its to early dismissing Cleverly, he is still young and improving. I dont think him beating someone like Wlodchyk is impossibility.

I honestly dont know how you come up with that conclusion after the first 2 fights at cruiser weight. Bellews opponents have been at least 20 times better than cleverlys and he has k.o.d them both in great fashion. Cleverly on the other hand has thought the worst 2 cruiser weights i have ever seen and he hasnt looked powerful or even boxed well.
Time will tell but how you can judge who the better boxer is on clevs last two opponents is beyond me! he hasnt had to use his brain for a second as both of his opponents where tomato cans

I did not say anything about Clev CW fights. I was talking about the first Clev v Bellew. And generally looking at what they do in the ring Clev is the better boxer. I can say this though, looks like Clev grown into CW by growing muscle, Bellew by growing manboobs.

Bellew woulda won the first if he'd have carried on doubling the jab.

I think both are showing their level at CW - neither anywhere near World class. Bellew started well but was just starting to get tagged regularly. It appears he does have a punch at CW that could change a fight but he is easy to hit too. Clev would have been much better suited to the old 190lb limit whereas Bellew can make the most of 200lbs.
I think Clev starts well and grows in confidence but eventually walks into something and Bellew gets the stoppage. Hope I'm wrong though as I really can't warm to Bellew. His antics after his win last night were embarrassingly bad.

Be interesting to know what they weigh in the ring. Cleverly looks trim and better conditioned, but maybe Bellew is just a lot bigger now?

I would say that very few people think cleverly is a good boxer. he is fit and fast but not a great technician.
Bellew out boxed him in the first fight and everyone knows it so again i dont know where u get these opinions from? Bellew was winning the fight with 2 rounds to go and ran out of steam. cleverly won the fight through having a great engine and work rate but now they have moved up cleverly is slower and gets tired quicker so i cant see a single advantage he has.
and would you rather have a great body or be a good fighter? i know what i would rather have
These debates mean nothing till they get in the ring and we see what happens but one thing is for certain bellew has fought 2 good cruiser weights and k.o.d both in a bad way.
Cleverly has fought a light heavy weight on his cruiser debut who got knocked out by murrat in 2 rounds and then he fought a out of shape Argentine who caught cleverly multiple times and was an absolute waste of space.
Answer me this why is it that cleverly has fought 2 complete tomato cans at cruiser weight? i already know the answer its because he is vulnerable and has zero confidence but im interested in your opinion .

The facts
1. The first fight was a very decent fight
2. It was very close, Clev possibly by a whisker, but was in bellew's back yard
3. I would say that bellew struggled more at 175 than Nathan
4. The rematch will answer everyone's questions
5. You will be force fed this rematch
6. You will be drowned in face-off's
7. Ringside will ram it doubt your throat
8. It will be the first thing that crosses your mind when you wake up
9. It will be the last thing on your mind when you fall asleep
10. When you look up at the clouds, you might even see clev's face in them.
11. Bellew's face will appear in a piece of burnt toast, like Jesus often does
12. When you break wind , it will sound like "You Rat !"
13. The forums will run red with scouse and welsh blood
Brace yourselves

Who wins or who cares?
They are drumming this up like its a lifetime in the making rematch unification fight for the champion of the universe; its not Mayweather v Pac people!
Its two decent level operators who couldnt hack it at world level (world champ clev hmmmm) moving up to a weaker division milking a payday
Cleverly has gotten worse since the first fight, poor opponents combined with him thinking he has a Gatti chin will see him blown away i feel, but Bellew has to take iff that sumo suit

People miss one big thing out. Clev has a very good chin.. He showed that again last night only person to put a dent in it is Kovalev who is a monster of a puncher. Bellews chin is a bit suspect we seen that in the last 2 fight and so many times before ever clean shot he takes he gets wobbled. Clev is quicker and I believe his added strength will now be too much for Bellew. Clev stoppage within 8 rounds. Bellew will be his usual big mouth in the build up and say how great he is and he's willing to die in the ring. Does anyone actually buy the pish that he spouts. People around boxing say he's a nice guy. He comes off as a spanner in every interview.

Cleverly is having to grow into Cruiserweight, and despite people saying otherwise i think he is also growing into a more powerful pncher, not concussive but a lot more effective than he was, and i expect that power to continue to improve.
Bellew looks like a guy that boiled down to much for to long, and although he appears more powerful he still doesn't seem to have any sort of standout thing about him that will allow him to beat top class or even fringe opposition.
in a rematch between the 2 i imagine it will still be close and hard fought, but expect Clev to pull away a bit more than first time around.
These 2 fights have been far more vital for Nathan than they have for Bellew, hence the difference in matchmaking.
Yeah the rematch wont deserve the hype Sky will throw at it, but it is a superb fight in order to gauge the standing and realistic ambitions for both men at the weight... giving them bloody good money for doing so rather than face a foreign datekeeper equally as dangerous for a pittance of the purse.

The thing with Bellew is he mainly comes across as a decent chap, obviously cares about the sport and his fans a lot, but then he just acts like a thick pudendum. The way he goes off talking himself up, it's obviously all he knows but it's obvious to see he knows his limitations and it's all a front.
I wish someone close to him would just say 'give it a rest fella' the reason he doesnt give it a rest is because he's so insecure about his real ability.
Cleverely should just become a maths teacher now rather than wait to get banged out at the top level again.
