Boxrec have the next 2 fights as against Zavarotni who took Price the distance and then Sprott.

Personally I like the Zavarotni fight and if he extends him past 6 rounds then it will be exactly what he needs but Sprott? Other than to get ranked within Europe and the UK I can't understand this fight at all. Surely he will deal with Sprott very very early.

If he beats Sprott easily then that is impressive.

Joshua is getting moved pretty fast. What do people want from him?

The Sprott fight is a good one. He has far more left than somebody like Skelton.

Sounds like you're easily impressed...Joshua beating down Sprott wouldn't really be impressive these days. Although admittedly it would be better than the Skelton win.

Who do you match Joshua with? he's still very much in the learning stage of his career. I feel he still needs these arranged matches , he'll learn a bit and also if the right Sprott turns up he can cause problems.

Joshua has been a pro for less than a year and he's still only 24.

Joshua is class and is moving forward sensibly.

That was quite the over-reaction.

Joshua has been matched terribly so far. Zavorontyi and Sprott are good steps up

If its durability Joshua's team want then Oliver McCall's your man,Sprott's a decent test i suppose and should go at least 6 i would've thought,Zavarotni's a great test as Joshua hasnt gone passed 2 yet so its quite risky so thats good

I guess what I am trying to say is that in my opinion Sprott is not a step up from Zavarotni.

Sprott is more dangerous offensively than Zavarotni so he may give Joshua more to think about, but he's also a bit chinny and there's a good chance he goes down earlier, thus not allowing Joshua to go rounds.

Both are fine opponents at this stage and serve different purposes.

I still think Joshua boxes like he's inflicted with a living form of rigomortis.

Reasonable steps up in my view and overdue now. He needs rounds above all so durability should be their key factor for deciding who he fights.

Stepping stones I suppose. McDermott, Sprott and then Sexton, (who is a bit underrated).

Joshua v Price in a WWE style loser leaves boxing matchup.

He's done all that's asked of him so far, but yep time for half-decent British level opponents now not faded old men like Skelton. Sprott is ok I suppose, Sexton I agree would be some sort of step up on what he's faced.

I find it very hard to judge him just yet, he's done everything that's asked of him and hasn't shown the vulnerabilities that Price showed as yet, so just gota keep beating what's in front of him.

We've all seen this storyline played out a few times before with the early hype, but he sure does look to have some real power and he's no way as stiff or as wound up as Price is when he boxes, he looks quite relaxed and although a bit stiff he looks no worse than many other very good heavys at that age.

Sprott is the last of his era to maybe still have a little bit left.

but both him and zavorotni will get blasted out early.

still, hopefully joshua can have a good end to this year ...he hasnt been as active as we'd like

Or James Toney

Get him in with Ian Lewison.

What on earth is he learning from blowing away people who are either over the hill or just plain crap?

Zavorotnyi & Sprott are good learning fights at this stage in his career.

Sprott has a wealth of experience and whether he gets blasted out early or not: with his experience he'll give Joshua something to think about. He's been in with the whose who of heavyweights including sparring the Klitschkos and fought guys who arguably punch harder than Joshua like Corrie Sanders.

Meanwhile, Zavorotnyi is a durable old chap and hopefully will get him some rounds. There's no pleasing some people; he's not even had ten fights yet! What do you want: for him to step in with a contender and get beat due to his lack of experience?

Is Ian Lewison a contender now?

I just want him to go in with someone who will give him a go back. For all the 'Sprott will give him something to think about'; there was an argument for that at the weekend too.

I don't believe the standard of opponent has actually improved in the last 3/4 fights personally, regardless of name or record.

Ian lewison doesn't seem to be able to get big fights and he would lose to Joshua anyway also his weight is still too high for him to be in serious shape.

Great fight lewinson would give it a real go. I would personally like to see him fight other undefeated prospects with similar records rather than fighter who were good in there day but are 5 years past thier prime.

Sexton got knocked out in sparring by McDermott. John is too much of a risk for AJ right now. 6 months is about right.
