I'm going to meet and interview Winston Burnett one of Britains finest centurians next week. He fought Benn and Eubank as well as 120+ others professional boxers in his career and was never put on the canvas. Anyone out there remember Winston, have any stories anecdotes or watch any of his fights. I'd be happy for any info or help.

PS. I'm planning a documentary film on journey boxers highlighting and celebrating their contribution to professional boxing

Got no info for you .... but he topped the bill of the first pro card I ever attended back around 1981 against a lad I was in school with, Steve Davies. Davies outworked him over 8 rounds in a decent scrap.

I remember Burnett mostly for getting his license revoked by the BBBoC when on 99 fights.

Surprised he was never floored though as he went in with some top fighters like Frank Tate, Kaylor, Benn, Eubank etc

I still have his fights against Benn and Eubanks - I have to look at them again.

Frank Tate stopped him over here, and Winston wrote a letter to BN criticising referee Larry O'Connell's intervention.
"You'll thank me in the morning," O'Connell had said to him.
