From what I hear he is managing the remaining of his fighters contracts. I'm not exactly sure what's been bought here I'm guessing more than anything the name. At least it will carry on has very good history. Saltire seem happy to put on 50/50 fights which should give Scottish boxing the boost it needs. I think the question is if your a Gilmour fight where's your next fight going to be? Relying on other promoters.

Was wondering cos you used to see tommy ringside at almost all matchroom shows (sure he supplied plenty of bills on sky with Barry Hearn in the past).
Did limond leave tommy?

The St Andrews card is one boxing event which has never interested me. Too much money with not enough on offer. Hopefully that changes but I doubt it will, it will remain a collar and tie overpriced event even although it could use its reputation and history to be so much more.

I think when you're a relatively new promoter any problem is just something you deal with and move on.When you've had years and years of problems, and you're getting older then you just decide you've had enough.
When Tommy started boxers were prepared to fight anywhere against anyone , anytime. I understand that new , young boxers want 5 or 6 weeks rest after a 6 x 2 s fight. The business has changed so much, and not for the better.
His knowledge will be sadly missed, and in the short term , Scottish boxing will suffer.

Lucky Tommy wouldnt have to worry about that, most of his fighters fight once every 6 months let alone every 6 weeks.

A very knowledgable boxing man who will no doubt keep his hand in it to an extent and help the younger promoters excel in Scotland like prospect promotions and saltire.
He is very good friends with barry Hearn but I believe when he past it over to Eddie things changed especially when he signed Ricky burns-being a Morrison fighter.
