I wonder if Barnes will find a way not to fight Hare. Hare might be to experienced for him.

Theres Probably a few ways this fight wont happen

1 Barnes gets a WBU show
2 Hare gets a WBF shot
3 someone get injured

in my opinion hare will / would murder barnes at this moment in time.

yeah u get the feeling the chances of this happening r slim however barnes only needs 1 more defence to win the lonsdale belt outright so they might be tempted.

hare takes him to the cleaners if they do meet

This fight won't happen. Barnes is already claiming an elbow injury (he says he picked up the injury on holiday!), and they'll piss Hare around for as long as possible in the hope James eventually goes another route.

As with most rumoured fights these days, i'll believe it when the two guys are in the ring.

I'm not going to go against the general opinion, Hare has way too much for Barnes at this point.

This would be a fantastic domestic match-up, in fact it is that good it stands absolutely no chance of actually happening (allegedly is making me extremely cynical )

Hare's great to watch when he lets his shots go, but he's very short for a welter isn't he and I think when he steps up in class he'll get found out. I know he was stale against Cosme Rivera but even so, the writing is on the wall for what will happen when he goes into world class. I mean, even that string-bean lad he boxed last night was getting perilously close with some of those right hands. I think James needs to start doing a Pernell and start ducking and diving instead of just pulling his head back all the time. Hope he does well though as he's a normal lad, not full of crap and comes across very well in post-fight interviews.

It's a real good matchup between two our leading Welterweights.

I'm as doubtful as the rest of you about it actually happening.

Must say though, I don't think the boxing styles will produce a good fight,

I hope the fight happens cause at this rate Barnes is going to win the lonsdale belt without BEATING anyone in the top 8 domestic rankings.

I haven't seen anything in Barnes to suggest he is as good as previously thought, his win since Vincent was okay but McIntyre is poor.

My fear for Hare is his punch resistance, but I don't think Barnes hits hard enough to KO him.

Hare by late KO in a one sided bout.

Barnes would win in my opinion, Hare is too easy to hit. The way Darke and Co talk about the Yorkshire lad you'd think he was the second coming of Sugar Ray Leonard !
The real point is though no matter who wins they would be simply minding the belt for the real Champ - Michael Jennings. He would beat both fighters easily. ( probably will never box Barnes though )

Hare on song is like a Willo the Wisp, and he can crack when he gets his timing right, the only drawback for Hare is physically he isn't very big or strong, and doesn't have the frame for a serious tear up.

Sadly I think he will turn out to be just sub world class, a bit like Adrian Stone.

His guard admittedly isn't the tightest, but he's pretty fornicating nippy, admittedly he has flaws, is the fight on now? Shame I am at work...

His reflexes look great against someone who has none.

This describes every opponent he's faced to date bar Cosme rivera.

That's a little unfair, he's hardly a leaden footed plodder. He lost one fight, that doesn't make him useless. Rivera is a decent fighter, and had the right style to make it awkward for Hare.

I cannot help feeling though that Hare would do better at light welterweight, he looks so small compared to the other welters in the division, imagine him in with someone like Vernon Forrest.

No I wasn't saying he hasn't got good reflexes but they look extra special against bums.

Anyway, I quite like Barnes and think he is steadily improving. He was chucked in against Vincent too early, and was very lucky to get the result. The trouble is it has put him at a level where he should be fighting the likes of Hare on a regular basis, when the reaitly is, he is still learning.

At the moment I think Hare has too much for him, but for me Hare was somewhat exposed in his loss to Rivera

It would be an interesting fight, but I'm not sure if Barnes is ready for Hare just yet, can't see the fight happening in the near future.

I don't know, I'm just wandering if Danny Williams' trainer (who shares the same name as you) dubbed himself the Psychological tactition at some stage.

Well i've heard of three James McDonnells. One is, i think, a boxing writer of some description (not sure exactly). The second is the guy stujones just mentioned (although i've only ever heard him referred to as Jimmy). The other was an Aeronautics engineer, responsible for several U.S fighter jets. But if that's you i'll be alerting the relevant authorities, because you've been dead for over 20 years. I was even concerned enough to do a little search on the net, it didn't bring up anything obvious.

In conclusion, adje knows something i don't or is slightly strange. Given my virtual omnipotence the former is almost certainly ruled out. Is a just me or is forum beginning to be a bit twilight zone-esque.
