Maybe the same reason he didn't want to let smith in with selby and murray in with hank lundy. He must think its just a bad fight for the lad and there is a good chance he wont win

Think joes ego reared it's ugly head again after the callum fight on saturday when he butted in and answered the question for callum when i'm sure we'd of all prefered callums view on the subject.

I would like to see Paul vacate the British if he gets the Abraham fight and Rocky fight Callum for it, maybe on the Bellew vs Cleverly undercard.
Doubt it will happen though as neither camp seem to want to take the risk at the moment. I remember Rocky being interviewed a few months back and when a fight with Callum was mentioned Oliver Harrison jumped in and dismissed the notion, in similar fashion to Joe Gallagher the other night.

Callum beats Rocky Fielding for me.

Every day of the week. And twice on a Sunday.

I like Fielding, I think he is very good. But I also think Smith is a lot better.

I cant understand why Paul has held his British SMW title for what seems about 2 years and is openly said for about the passed year he's after a world title shot and he wont relinquish for anyone other than Callum, then he picks an opponent in Webb whose rejected by the BBBofC yet he still hasnt been stripped???

Despite rocky being around longer etc. not only does Callum have a fantastic pedigree, you can see he has ultimate belief & faith which fielding is allway's building on

For me, at the moment, Fielding all day long. Maybe one year down the line then Callum.

I think they both performed very well on Saturday, I just lean towards smith if they fought right now.

If Paul Smith gets the Abraham fight.he should give the British belt up and then Eddie should bust a gut to make C.smith v fielding before xmas

Be great if they could put it on the undercard of bellew Vs Cleverly but probably depends on if Paul smith vacates in time. He should of been stripped by now to be honest

That's interesting I see wat your saying personally see it a 50/50 don't see how any 1 would think either 1 would dominate the other unless I don't know boxing and I'm blind the 2 of them are near identical in every way. Tall up straight with good shot selection little or no head movement both go back in straight lines both have good power I would think though it would be a fairly boring fight for Jo public a tactical battle

I like Paul Smith and I think the criticism he receives on here and other forums is a dad unjust at times. However, I don't like how he completely dismisses Fielding when he talks about people who he could defend his title against.

He's been implying that Groves, Froch and Degale aside there is no one at his level, and Degale, Froch and Groves are beyond domestic level well 2 things.

1) If Tyson Fury can fight for the vacant title, then not sure why DeGale would not want to get the British belt back. Fury is more beyond domestic level than DeGale.

2) I know the belt is devalued these days, but for me a Commonwealth Champion who is British is, and should be, always considered worthy to fight for the British title. Rocky Fielding is a hell of a lot more worthy than Tony Dodson (the second time around).

Personally I'd be less confident picking Paul than Callum to beat Rocky.
