I read that there were 5 Japanse world boxing champions in 2 different weight divisions. Who were/are they? I tried to search the internet, but I found nothing.

Fighting Harada was a Flyweight and Bantamweight back in the 60' and early 70's. I believe he fought for the Feather crown as well. At the local
Benihana here in my city they still keep a picture of him up on their wall.

Harada was a damn good fighter and perhaps a top 30P4P guy. Watch his fights with another great in Eder Jofre and you will understand, he's beats Jofre in those fights. He also lost against Johnny Famechon in one of the worst decisions ever.

Here's one for you. Kuniaki Shibata. He was a champion at feather and super feather in the 70's. That's courtesy of my grandad, who remembers Shibata fighting Ernesto Marcel. Unsurprisingly, my grandad went on to tell me that this guy wasn't bad, but was nowhere near Harada.

Jeffsboxing, i did a similar search fairly recently (but to find how many British fighters had won titiles at different weights) and the easiest way to do it is to search the database by title. I'd do the work for you, but i'm so damn lazy.

how about yoshiaki numata and hiroshi kobayashi who along with kuniaki shibata created a little japanese golden age in the late 60`s early 70`s at super feather.
i reckon the last one was shozo saijyo who fought at the same time at feather

Thanks so much. I'll conduct a deeper study about it for a writing in a boxing media.
