I've always said the Brizzi brothers running the Victorian Amateur Boxing Association while also putting their fighters forward for competition was a conflict of interest. A couple of years ago, while I was at Moorabin Boxing Gym I witnessed our heavy weight, at the time 1-1, fight a Brizzi trained fighter, our boy, Ben, was punching the head of the Brizzi fighter repetitively to the head, while the Brizzi fighter leaned back on the ropes with his arms directly down, not defending, not answering the punches back, what happened next shocked me, our boy was stopped and a standing count was placed on him!

Ben lost that fight by one point (old scoring system), he had accepted his first loss as it was a genuine loss, and accepted that he may lose more as he will occasionally be over matched, but this blatant robbery drove him from amateur boxing, in fact all boxing.

Today we had a boy fighting a Brizzi fighter, both 20+ fights. Our boy lost the first round, a close, scrappy round that is conceded to the Brizzi trained lad. The second round, our boy outworked his opponent, then staggered him with a left hook, a count was applied. Third round our boy punched the Brizzi trained fighter all over the ring, forcing him to turn his back to stop the onslaught and earning the Brizzi trained fighter a warning.

The decision was announced "unanimous, Adam, red corner", the crowd cheered! Brizzi, from the corner (I will have access to the video after today) looked at the judges shouting "OI!". Immediately, before any paper shuffling could occur, the decision was over turned and the crowed erupted into a cacophony of boos. Absolutely disgraceful!

A protest will be lodged tomorrow, I do realize it will be fruitless, though it will draw attention to this blatant corruption and will, hopefully, bring this crap to scrutiny. Fair's fair!

How did he shout that Oi Dale? me being a judge knows all the Oi,s'
Was it one long OOOIIII Danger Hide under ring.
If it got loud towards the end that meant "destroy Cards"
One long woelful one meant :The end is near
If it got softer though that meant "You guys have f*cked up. Reverse scores immediately"
By what you have said this seems the most likely one you have heard
Get it right when you make your complaint or they will dismiss and deny the secret Oi,s'.exist.
Good Luck with it Dale

Its been dodgy for years ,, I never really found it so much that the judges favored there boxers , but the match making certainly did ,what i found was, If gym A had a couple of lads who could draw a BIG crowd , then they would be kept winning , and if you were the trainer at gym b ,,, c,,,, OR,,,,, d ,,, YOU BETTER HAVE YOUR FINGER ON THE PULSE .
