God knows how Smith got into a high WBO ranking without fighting anyone and losing his two biggest fights and only beating Tony Dodson. As for the fight Abraham wins around the 7th.

But seriously, I know Arthur's declined (& I was well aware of his limitations as a middleweight, let alone a super-middle), but has he really declined so much that Smithy can get to him?

The fact that this fight has been made is a massive injustice to thousands of boxers around the world working for their chance.

However, should Abraham have declined to such an extent that Smith actually wins ...... I don't think that I could cope .....

Iv'e seen Abraham in with enough bums over the years as both MW and SMW to suggest that Smith has a chance of not only going the distance but maybe even sneaking the W

We all know Paul doesn't really deserve the shot but if another Brit gets to fight for a world title then im all for it,he takes a lot of flak on here does Smigga but it was before my time that he was on here getting into all sorts of arguements so i cant comment on them but i personally think he's alright although he's been way off the mark in his own self entitlement(is that the right word im looking for? ) what i mean is that he seems to have a grand opinion on his "right" to fight for a world title but who gives a sh1t its irrelevant,anyway if anyone should cop any flak it should be the BBBofC for letting Smith dilly dally with the British and not stripping him yet they force Derry Mathews to vacate 5 minutes after winning it

Back to the fight,Arthur's easy to outwork and if Paul can set a pace and throw spiteful punches which catch the eye then maybe just maybe he could nick it :??


The worrying thing for me from Paul's point of view is has he had the right preperation for a world champoinship fight? This fights been in the pipeline for what seems well over a year yet he hasnt defended his British and only fought Jamie Ambler and David Sabria,hardly ideal prep and something he will mull over if he loses,he should have stopped being so fussy about only defending his title against Scousers

The fact is since Smith beat Dodson he has had two gimme 8 rounders.

In the same timeframe Abraham has gone twelve rounds 4 times one of which he won his title back from steiglitz in a good scrap.

Yes Abraham isn't that good but he is incredibly tough and clearly stil in good condition.

I think Smith has a shock come round 6 and gets stopped

Lol he hasn't proved he is the best in Liverpool now though in fairness Eddie showed no interest in that fight if he did he would have made in in March

Hope he loses. Hes one of the few british fighter I cannot stand.

He's only the third best super middleweight in Liverpool in my opinion.

For Paul to win he has to get the KO as I mentioned earlier he is not used to going the rounds like Abraham recently.

Am I alone in thinking smigga has a chance in this? Abraham is def past his peak, last 4 fights have gone the distance, he has had his head boxed off at times, always fights the same... high guard, slightly open to body shots and then looking to land with his heavy hooks. Smigga is a decent stylist, his hands are heavy enough to keep Abraham 'honest'. If smigga can avoid the heavy artillery he can sneak a win..........but jesus, points wins are tough in Germany.

I hope he gets mullered cannot stand the arrogant fat bastard.

Sorry to say no chance for Smith in this one. He will go in looking decent but will soon realise the job in front of him. Abraham via TKO 5-8.

Forget being brothers for one minute, I'd back Callum over Paul right now and in no way, is Callum ready for an Abraham, Bika, Stieglitz or even a Dirrel. A uk based name on AA's record and a comparison to Groves can be made before AA v GG is ultimately signed.

Just see aa being to solid & compact & stopping smith late on after a gallant effort. Smith is the underdog & has a chance.
One thing that has annoyed me is that smith has avoided a proper fight or a test prior to this fight

I think Smith has an outside chance and if the odds are right worth sticking a tenner on, but you would have to say nothing in his career so far gives rise to the view that he can go to Germany and win.

His career so far is just one of many fighters who have had talent but havent had the discipline to go with it.

So what did he actually do on here to become a target?

I know he doesnt deserve a shot at a world title but neither did Burns and he's one of the most well liked guys on the circuit

I don't like him because he's done hardly anything to back up his boasts or the hype he gets.
