Because after Froch wins easily, Hennessy will turn around and say the Canadian was the best we could find at short notice. We're sick of hearing the same thing time after time.

Matthew Barney has rejected a late offer to fight Commonwealth super-middleweight champion Carl Froch next week.
As highlighted in Wednesday's Daily Echo, the WBU light-heavyweight champion is desperate to get back inside the boxing ring after spending eight months out of action since beating Portsmouth's Tony Oakey.
But he is currently abroad and said it was "typical" to only be offered a fight on someone else's terms.
Barney won his world title after stepping in with 48 hours notice but would love to fight Froch, who was supposed to be boxing British champion Tony Dodson next week - if he is given a proper opportunity to prepare for the fight.
He said: "I've not been training at all and I've been out of the country, so it would have been madness to take the fight.
"I would love to fight him, but on level terms at a time that suits both of us. But I doubt he will be prepared to do that."

Carl Froch will defend his Commonwealth super middleweight title against Canadian Mark Woolnough on 2 June.
The "Cobra" suffered disappointment when British champion Tony Dodson was forced to pull out of their scheduled contest following a car crash.

But the 26-year-old was quick to talk up his new opponent.

"For someone who has come in at late notice, Woolnough is going to bring one hell of challenge - he has plenty of championship experience," said Froch.

"He has won his last eight outings and won them in style - including two title fights.

"He is also a southpaw and a North American southpaw at that - those kids can fight out there."

Froch could not hide his frustration when Dodson pulled out for a second time after damaging vertebrae in Tuesday's crash.

But he was quick to lend his support to the British champion.

"Obviously I am very disappointed, but my first thoughts are for Dodson's well-being," said Froch.

Junior Witter will co-feature on the Nottingham card in his European showdown with Salvatore Battaglia.

When a fighter has to talk up his own opponent, it's a bad sign.

This guy may be unknown but who the hell is gonna wanna step into a ring with a top prospect at late notice.

I would have liked to have seen Jerry Elliot in there, although as James said its a lose-lose situation. In days gone by, Froch would have gone without a pay day (i.e. fight cancelled) - this obviously had it draw backs but also had its plus points.

Maybe the best thing to have happend (as I suggested for Hatton) is to cancell the show. Although, then Junior Witter would have missed out.

I would have liked to have seen Henessey produced a big double bill, that would have got some more exposure. I'm sure a Witter EBU title shot ASWELL as Froch vs Dodson double title fight would have gone down as one of the best domestic bills in the country this year. However, now they are two normal (for want of a better word) bills.

Anybody know when Dodson will be fit again?

I cant remember the circumstances of the 2 Eastman and the Witter fights falling apart but Dodson has had to pull out through injury. Ur saying that it has something to do with Mick Hennessy Dodson pulling out.

Haye was due to fight Lee Swaby a while back that wasnt a Hennessy bill. Hatton v Pinto was the same and in each case neither of the fighters got injured. A.Harrison v Popov fell to pieces as well. And also S.Harrison v Abelyan (first time around.)We are all gutted all these fights are getting cancelled but I certainly aint blaming Mick Hennessy for this.

If The Froch Prince thinks the North American southpaws are tough, just wait until he gets in the ring with a South American northpaw. :P

Its not my cup of tea blaming the promoter, and I like with Pinto I just think there is not alot Hennesey could have done.

Incidently, who does everyone think is the best promotor in delevering the fights advertised, most of it is luck though (cause I'm sure Tony would have loved to have faced Froch now).

I'm not that particularly good with "who promotes who", so who is the best in this intance.

Dennis Hobson usually does what he says he's going to do.

Jess Harding is reliable also.

It is inevitable that the bigger your stable of fighters the more cancelations you're going to get. BUT, top of the bills should not get cancelled/changed at late notice unless there is a damn good reason.

You seldom see a DKP show fall apart with a couple of weeks to go.

Genuine fighter injury is the only thing that should stop a fight going ahead.

I'd personally rather see a fighter pull out with Wankers wrist rather than the excuses at the end of a defeat - like Harrison's flu.

There have been a lot of pull outs, maybe they should start naming the replacement fighter as well when they name the original bill!!!

It's acceptable, as long as you didn't buy ringside tickets I guess. A pain in the arse though.

And yes King usualy pulls something out of the bag at a late notice cancellation, give him that. He found a not bad replacement for Mayorga on about 24 hours notice recently. Bigger money at stake though.

The SN farce over Hatton/Pinto was truly terrible - no excuse there.

FIVE main events falling through since November. That's unacceptable in my book. People buy their tickets for the main event and, lo and behold, once the tickets are gone, the main event falls through.
