Does Ustinov have a better chance than Delboy???

Simple question, I was just wondering what the boxing world though out there?

Does Ustinov have a better changing of getting the W this Saturday over Fury than Delboy did?

Personally I think no, however, I think Ustinov is more than impressive replacement at this short notice, and I have him only slightly behind Dereck.

A 240ish Chisora has a significantly better chance in my opinion.

Ustinov isn't that good generally and he shouldn't be made out to be on Fury or Chisora's level, but he's a better opponent than I expected at such short notice and in my view he's capable of giving Fury some problems.

Ustinov is a more than adequate late notice stand-in and this bout interests me more than the planned encounter.

Ustinov is a brute of a man, not explosive but heavy handed and strong. Technically he's nothing special, he's too square on and has practically zero head movement. Whilst he poses a risk due to his sheer stature, I expect Fury to sicken him with the jab and hopefully send a message to those watching on.

This is a far better fight.. Ustinov is a better fighter than Chisora. Fury will still win though

due to circumstances, maybe.

Fury trained for Delboy, as opposite an opponent as you would expect to find.

He'll be an easier target, but he will maybe be more durable, has a lot more brute strength in his work, and possibly the sheer size to keep Tyson down if he can connect.

Obviously he wont be in prime condition though in spite of working in dereks camp, so there are definitely cons.

Hopefully a journalist with Dereck's number will seek his opinion on how this fight goes.

I wouldn't for one second say Ustinov is a better fighter than Chisora. It's not very hard at all to imagine the Londoner doing a far better job on all the big guy's former opponents, including probably stopping the shopworn Sprott and Tua.

No, I don't think Ustinov has a better chance than a fit Chisora, but I'll certainly take this as a late replacement fight. The fact that we are even having to think before answering is promising. Credit where credit is due this is a good matchup to pull out of the bag at such late notice. Very happy with this.

Nah, a fit Chisora is the one style Fury can't really deal with. Ustinov will be target practice.

Just seen Ustinov on youtube, looks average and a bit of a plodder, i can see Fury wearing him down in 8.

The big lump certainly won't be more durable.

If I was Ustinov I'd make the fight ugly, leaning on fury at every chance, using that body mass to upset his opponent. I think fury will win as I believe ustinov will tire, but I'm not sure it will be that convincing cos fury won't have his usual size advantage and that is something he is not used to.

Ustinov was brought in as a replica Fury type clone to help Chisora

Will be intresting to see two similar type of lumps - I think the age may be the telling factor

Gotta love Fury's comments

'I'm going to break the man who broke Chisora's hand'

A rather budget version of 'beat the man who beat the man'

That's why Fury was 1/2 to beat Chisora and is now 1/7 to beat Ustinov?

KO'd by Pulev!

this is a much better fight and i dont think it will go the distance,,,

Indeed. Ustinov is technically very poor and the new odds are accurate. In fact when I've seen him live I was actually shocked by how poor he was. If Tyson does not beat him comfortably then I will be surprised. Some people are judging Ustinov and Chisora based on their records rather than their ability. Chisora is far superior than Ustinov in my opinion.

Technically he's very poor, but given Fury's showing against Cunningham and Pajkic I think he's dangerous with the right hand, which he throws often.

He rocked Pulev with that shot in the 7th or 8th and to my knowledge is the only fighter to hurt him in the pros.

For me its not a question of if he is better than chisora its a question of is he even remotely fit?

I know he has been sparring chisora but there is a difference in being fit enough to plod through sparring and being fighting fit.

Id be shocked if he goes past 4 and not through fury being so devastating more to do with the fact ustinov hasnt got the stamina to stay out of trouble for more than a couple of rounds

I had a great holiday, thanks! I'm now looking forward to the boxing on the weekend. I expect a stoppage victory for Tyson on Saturday night.

I noticed your absence and assumed you must be on holiday. Glad you had a good time. :TU:

Was Ustinov already in training? I'm assuming he was...
Fury wins this but it depends on his attitude as to whether he bombs him out or struggles. If he has managed to keep his focus he gets him out within 6...if he's brooding over Chisora pulling out it could be a lot tougher. Either way I don't see Ustinov winning.
