I can't see it being close.

Magee has been disappointing for a while now, especially last time out where he was awful. His best win is probably Cherifi, who was way past his best and a division up from where he usually fights. Magee, IMO, is badly overrated.
Given how vulnerable he looked in his last fight, Reid definitely has the power to hurt him, whereas Magee doesn't carry enough of a dig to trouble Reid. I also don't think that Magee is good enough to outbox Reid for the whole fight. I'll stick the house on a stoppage win for Reid.

Reid will win.
I think it will be competitive for a while but thats about it.

I go for Reid on points, unless Reid has got old overnight I think he a little bit too much of everything for Magee to handle.

Tough one to call, whilst Magee was disapointing against Elliot, we did a better number on Thysse than Beyer did. I do worry for Magee about what he'll be like when facing a banger like Reid. Just think his work rate and freshness will see him home on a close decision.

i dont think people shud read into the elliot fight too much cos he was crude and awkward - i fancy reid to stop magee late but remember reid has problems with guys who can box and move - branco and sugarboy malinga and magee could box his way to a points decision

I agree Reid struggles when his opponent won’t fight him, Reid at first glance looks the overwhelming favourite but something tells me Brian will outpoint him, Brian comes across as really fancying this fight, and is too big for Reid to bully.

magee is hardly a mover. I think he will play into reid's (right) hand(s) and get stopped. i'll be betting on this, i imagine the bookies will dump 5/6 on both of them.

Magee and his people where very keen to get this fight, maybe thay know something we don't. Reid I don't think has looked good for ages, even in the Ottke fight he faded late on.

Reid is a bit of a choker. Just when you think it's there for him he flatters to deceive and chucks it away.

Although I don't think that much of Magee I still fancy him to win it on points.

Does anyone here feel that if it goes to a close decision Magee will get the nod, as he's the 'prospect' and Rieds 'had his chance'. I hope I'm wrong and may be way off the mark here, but it's just a thought that popped into my head.

I always say, pick the guy with hometown advantage and, nine times out of ten, you'll be right.

I'm gonna stick my neck on the line and say Magee. I think it is easy to go with an ex-champ in these type of fights, but Reid hasn't really done much in the last few years.

It's a good fight this, and props to both fighters for taking it. It will answer a few questions about Magee, and probably confirm what we already suspect about Reid.

Reid is going to spark Magee. He is hopping mad after getting shafted against Ottke, and anyone who thinks he stopped punching because he was tired is mad.

I spoke to his trainer, and he said himself that he warned Reid to be careful not to get DQ'd in there. That is why Reid started loading up and trying to spark Ottke with one shot, he was getting warned every time he hit Ottke, so he figured it best to look for a one shot KO.

Reid knows this is his last chance Saloon, i think it would have been better if he had had another fight inbetween, but I'll go for the Runcorn man by late stoppage.

I read somewhere that this was an IBF eliminator, but now I see that it isn't.

WHY THE HELL NOT? LACY/TSYPKO IS, AND THAT'S BETWEEN TWO RELATIVE NOVICES!! WHO THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO PUT IN THE OTHER ELIMINATOR????

Quite what Tsypko has done to warrant an IBF eliminator is beyond me, it's just so Lacy can get in line for the title. I watched some tapes of Tsypko, he hasn't a prayer of getting a decision in an American ring. In eastern Europe it would be another matter, but his negative backpedalling style won't win him any fights stateside.

I thought it was a WBA eliminator?

Reid himself said it looks like an easy fight for him.

As long as Reid doesn't just turn up expecting Magee to fall over, he should either knock Magee out or pound him for a 12 round decision.

I expect Reid to land the bigger shots to win in the fans eyes but I reckon Magee will get a decision barring any knockdowns.
