Raymi has fought total nobodies for sure, but Wilder is Apparently on the verge of a crack at the heavyweight title (once the richest prize in sport).

This without really beating anyone. Heavyweight division is bollox right now.

I agree. But that's the whole point. The heavyweight division is pants at the moment. The fact that Wilder is perhaps a better chance than some of the others who have had a shot, yet still not really been tested against half decent opposition is a crying shame.

Wilder is an exciting fighter and I'd love to see him have a go at Wlad, but has he "earned it"? Perhaps in today's heavyweight Farce he has.

I agree. Those guys that he beat don't even look like they'd survive an amateur tournament let alone a real pro fight. I guess the only question is, how competitive is that division right now?

Last weekend's bout between Takayama and Rodriguez was great and we are now looking towards Budler/Zhong, Novoa/Wanheng and Buitrago/KO Freshmart, Tanaka and Hara are rumored to fight later this year.

Thanks. I don't know enough about that weight class or those particular fighters to understand the significance of those bouts, but I'll take your word for it. I clicked on a few YouTube links of Raymi though and his opponents are appalling

I dunno, outside the top handful of guys the 105 division is pretty woeful. Not saying Raymi could beat these guys, but it's not like Buitrago or Menayothin's records are any less inflated.

I wonder how many of Raymi's opponents are outright frauds. The reporting from that part of the world has to be spotty at best. This "Prince Maz" fellow who launched Raymi to his #5 ranking was supposedly 8-0 and fought everywhere from 105 to 122? Sounds pretty dubious.

It's interesting to see what happens to computerized rankings when you have ultra-insular fight circuits like this.

Problem is that when you don't watch the fighters you tend to make your decisions on the records and that of their opponents. Watching guys like Tanaka would make you realise how good some of those guys are.

Buitrago looked VERY good against Sabillo, Menayothin is finally getting his first big test against the destructive Novoa.

I think if more people watched the fighters in and around 105 they'd get a lot more appreciation. A lot of them have screwy records which are misleading as well.

No people think this guys should get record for the knockout record vs consecutive bums he beat. I see people ranked him in top ten of his division if u look Rodriguez-Takayama fight and look at his resume and never fighting a fighter or fight outside of Yemen is a joke

Rodriguez and Takayama don't belong in the same sentence as the Yemeni Rib Rattler.

That's definitely a challenge... for sure, especially when a guy is clearly trying to game the system --- that's my sole opinion.

I think you're making a bit of a false equivalency here. I'm not saying these guys aren't skilled, but the talent pool is very shallow at 105, there just aren't that many guys in the sport small enough to make that weight. The fact that weight classes are absurdly close together at the lower weights doesn't help. If a welterweight fought the level of competition that Buitrago or Menayothin have, they'd barely be in the top 100.
