.......Another Michael Grant?

All this hype of Deontay is ridiculous, mark my words in 10 years time his status in the history of heavyweight boxing will be the same as Grants!

Good but no where near great!!

I just wish promoters got some bottle instead of chasing the money!

We will never see a young heavyweight unleashed off the reins like they did with Mike Tyson!

They are all so protected its a joke!

Just enjoy him. He's got a big punch. And if he has got a dodgy chin then he will be super exciting.

Michael Grant beat a slew of genuine young heavyweight contenders. He came off the floor to whack Golota.

Wilder has beaten . . . nobody.

Frankly it's an insult to Michael Grant to compare Deontay Wilder to him.

Its hard to analyze some people. Foreman was a big under dog before facing Frazier, because at the time even though George had an incredible kayo rate he had not defeated anyone of consequence. Maybe one or two guys were legit, but the rest were third tiers or journeymen at best. So, whether Wilder is the next Foreman or the next Grant, is anyone's guess. Just enjoy the fights while they last. Some of my favorite fights and memories as a fan came from guys who never even came close to the kind of popularity or ranking that Wilder has currently. Some guys just have great fights, regardless of opponent. But they themselves are not great.

Foreman had been the only person to stop Chuvalo (top 10 at the time), beat Peralta twice (top 10-15 at the time), fellow prospect Boone Kirkman (top 10 at the time), along with decent gatekeepers like Chuck Wepner, Jack O'Halloran and Ted Gullick (all in the top 20).

FAR superior to Wilder's resume, which consists of journeyman, a top 20ish guy taking a dive (Scott) and a lone unranked 38 year old ext titleholder brought in from the graveyard (Lyakovich).

Is Wilder the next Foreman? Don't know but I guarantee that the punching power is legit.
And he doesn't need to be a great, polished fighter to demolish the current crop of woeful heavyweight "contenders."

I have no idea how good or bad Wilder is.I love his power but question stamina and chin.
All I know is I want to see how Wlad handles a flush punch on the chin from him.
I give Wlad 99% chance of winning.But that 1% is reserved for that lucky punch Wilder may land.

Most others do not have Wilder's power.So I give him a whole 1% chance of winning.
The other contenders i give a .9% chance of winning by lucky punch.

Until Denotay gets in with someone who can pop a couple of proper shots back at him or who is prepared/able to pull the trigger very early and first, the jury has to remain well and truly out....

.......but he's getting very close to that particular crunch time now and we'll soon found out.

Thinking out aloud.....Grant was suspectible to being jumped-on early (Lewis and McCline both sussed this out) and as things get serious for Denotay I think that someone is going to try the same thing here as well. If he can get through that test....he may prove to be the real deal.
