Austin Trout, Lara or Carlos Molina for his November hbo fight? I think any of them fights are better than Sam soliman or any other D level fighters there throwing at gennady, cause non of the superstars of boxing will even dare mention his name

I don't think Sam Soliman is a D level fighter. He's probably B and better than Geale on present form.

Lara could successfully run for a while like he did with Canelo, but Gennady would eventually start catching him finishing between 6th and 10th round.

I think Erislandy & much to my own dismay Carlos could give an interesting fight to GGG. I gotta admit I'd rather see GGG get some more dominance over 160lbers first though. I'd rather see him fight Sergio, Peter or Daniel over a also ran 154lber (and lets be honest all those guys mentioned are coming off of L's, even if I disagree with Erislandy's L, or are a w/e bs title beltholder @ 154). I think GGG gains more by fighting the 160 guys than the 154 guys & honestly I think all those fights are probably just as unlikely to make right now anyway so ultimately its not happening either way.

Molina would stink it up for a while, but if an unmotivated and frustrated James Kirkland could put him down, GGG would also. Probably in the 2nd half of the fight.

Lara would be a close fight. However, I don't think Erislandy has the power or chin to keep GGG off.

Trout isn't in a good place right now to fight GGG. Trout needs to rebuild and work his way up again. It's crazy how he fought Canelo even a little while back but now he's got a ways to go before he should be in the ring with GGG.

Who cares? You're making a big deal over 6 pounds. It's bullshit.

All of these in between divisions are essentially catch weights. Most 154 pound fighters are middleweight who can drain a little more than the guy at 160.

I think too many hardcore boxing fans got weird sh!t over weight differences, I don't really give much of a f#ck, BUT I do think wins over Sergio, Peter or Daniel would look a lil better & get him more accolades than wins over Erislandy, Carlos or Austin & thats what I was trying to say. Again none of those fights seem likely so this is much ado about nothing.

This cannot be a serious post so I'll treat it as such.

like it or not, taking soliman's ibf puts ggg one step closer to locking down
the biggest fights at 160lbs. i don't care what peoples' opinions are on each
individual abc belt. if ggg has them all unified then there are no other big
fights in the division but through him. sure, top 10 guys can fight each other,
but the belts they are fighting for right now is a big part of why people will
watch the fights. i know how much it hurts people around here to admit.
ggg takes the belts and anyone in the top 10 who wants a big fight will
have to fight ggg. you want to claim you are the champ? there he is. fight him

Ward, Froch, or Stevenson?

Of course the guy who thought Salka would beat Garcia thinks GGG would beat Ward.

He would certainly beat Froch. Ward is a 50/50 fight. With a good ref preventing excessive holding, I would say it is 70/30 for Golovkin.

Top LHW's except Hopkins are too big for Gennady.

GGG isn't ever likely to have the crossover appeal to avoid being stripped of a abc belt over some silly bs (like Floyd or Manny) & he certainly doesnt have it right now so idk how realistic this reality actually is. If he wins a title in the ring only to lose it out of the ring what was the point of winning it in the first place cuz some other cat is now the "champ" anyway. GGG should just be fighting the best opponent available, title or not, in this not so great situation he finds himself in. Eventually he'll get where he wants to be or @ least have the best chance to get there.

Nah, some mfers just seeing GGG as the most unbeatable guy since 1980's Tyson or 1990's RJJ & I think thats silly. We'll see how it all works out.

Well until he moves up and challenges someone better than Geale we won't find out.

Sam Soliman is a better fight for 3G than either of them because AT can't hit hard enough to hurt G and Molina is just too easy to hit and is basically a bum IMHO, at least Soliman despite getting hit easily (but not easier than Carlos) will throw punches back and can take a good shot.

I find Carlos to be one of the most unwatchable guys in the sport today, but he's far from a bum. Of the 7 marks on his record, 5 losses & 2 draws, I think 5 of them are disputable to one degree or another & the other two fights I didnt see. I don't think I'd pick him over GGG or anything, but I'd be curious how that fight goes being how tricky Carlos is.

I agree Molina is a bum outside the ring, but inside makes it a tough fight.....somehow with his ugly style. I think he will be fighting south of the border for a while. 13 will get you 20 in the states, not to mention much unwanted attention in the pen.

Put this little Rusky in against a category 5 Hurricane and he's gonna KO them.
The guy is a beast. I aint seen no one like him never.
