Ian Lewison has replaced Sam Sexton (who pulled out due to injury) to face Gary Cornish in a British title eliminator (subject to the BBBoC approval). I saw lewison boxing at the St Andrews Sporting Club in June and he can punch but looked a bit sluggish, this might be due to his lack of inactivity before that fight but this could be a good scalp for Gary and show us how much he has improved!

There is another interesting fight on the bill with Kris Carslaw vs John Thain in a Light Middleweight British Title eliminator. John was unlucky not to get the nod against Ronnie Heffron and Kris has much more experience and gets home advantage!! I wouldn't like to call a winner for this one.

How do you see these fights going and will the winners have a chance when fighting for the British title?

Not been over impressed with what I have seen of Cornish so I think that Lewison will outpoint him & Thain looks good, just pipped by Heffron I think he will have too much for Carslaw.

Ouch, I reckon Lewison is a more dangerous opponent than Sexton, he's definitely got ambition and can hit. Reckon this'll be a step too far for Gary, hope not, and there's only one way to find out. Certainly looking forward to it, should be exciting stuff.

Lewison should win this if fit. But that's a big if with Ian he has been very overweight the last two fights. Should be interesting as Cornish will no doubt prepare as if it were a world title and Lewison needs a win if his slow career is to take off.

im going to this one , Cornish has had some great sparring by sounds of it with , Chisora and Fury

this will be intresting to see how he can do against a decent British fighter who is an actuall heavyweight

Carslaw vs Thain should be a cracker , Carslaw has proven he can mix it and last the pace in tough fights.

Thain is a Tidy boxer though from the fights ive saw

think this is a distance fight with Carslaw winning by a few rounds .

I think Lewison is a step too far at this stage for Cornish, unless Lewison turns up out of shape and isn't up for it I'd expect him to win comfortably. Carslaw-Thain will be a lot closer, but Carslaw has always fallen just short when he's stepped up a level, I don't see that changing so I'll go with Thain on points.

As for how the winners will do, there's no guarantee either will fight for the British title because both aren't final eliminators, although with the current situation of both titles I expect that they will. Fury and Chisora are fighting for the British Heavyweight title in November, the winner will likely vacate as they look towards a fight with Wlad, so the winner of Cornish-Lewison will probably box for the vacant title, the problem for them is that the loser of Fury-Chisora may well be steered into another British title fight as a comeback, Joshua will be around that level by the time the title's vacant, David Price is another possibility and I don't see either Cornish or Lewison beating any of those. Liam Smith is currently champion at light middleweight, but if he beats Mansouri he'll have the belt outright and may well vacate, Liam Williams beat Heffron in an eliminator, so either Thain or Carslaw will fight him next, if Smith vacates it will be for the title, if he doesn't then in a final eliminator and again I think Williams has too much for both Thain and Carslaw.

Lewison is a crazy fight.. I think he was poor last time out but he was a excellent amateur and he can bang.. Step too far too early for Cornish I'm afraid... I think Thain will out point Carslaw close technical fight

Couple of good fights although not sure quite how Thain and Carslaw deserve to be in an eliminator quite yet. As pointed out, Carslaw always falls short when he steps up and Thain lost on his step up - to a fighter who got outclassed in a previous eliminator.

Thain was robbed and Carslaw has been very close and a tad unlucky against Rose who fought for a World Title.. This is a good Fringe British level fight

Great show run by Saltire Promotions last night and Colin Bellshaw and Iain Wilson should be happy with themselves today!!

Kris Carslaw vs John Thain: was a brilliant fight and although Kris was a deserved winner John showed heart and courage to stay in the fight after being hurt in a couple of the rounds!! Personally i though the scoring was a but wide in Kris Carslaws favour but Kris boxed the best I have seen him in a long time if not ever and really seemed to want it more than he has in the past!! But they got the winner right and that's the most important thing, John really showed improvements too and imo he isn't far away from beating guys at this level.

Gary Cornish vs Larry O: Larry O did his best not to be ko'd and was so negative!! Gary boxed well but might feel he could have let loose and took a couple more chances considering there was nothing coming back but i suppose his overall lack of bouts showed against Larry O last night but when someone comes to just survive it can be frustrating and it showed last night.

Craig Kelly vs Marek Laskowski: Craig Kelly got the win last night and did enough in my eyes, Craig boxed exactly how we expected but Marek's lack of size and preparation told at times (Marek is really a Light Welter and got the call 3 weeks ago whilst on holiday) but Marek stuck to his guns and kept trying. The referee was a bit iffy and took 2 points off Marek for holding but continually let Craig hit the back of the head throughout fight! But as I said Craig deserved the win regardless of the points being taken off and he can now look forward to defending his Scottish Title.

Matty McAllister vs Teoder Stefanov: It was Matty's first fight in 10 months and he used the fight to work on things he had been working on with Bob Shannon, he was never in trouble and teh rounds will do him good.

George Thomson vs Alex Bazza: Never seen the fight but was told George was as usual and picked up an easy points win, maybe someone on here can tell us more

James Thomson vs Matt Seawright: Once again i never seen the fight but James managed to get the stoppage over Matt. I would like to hear from someone who watched the bout!

david, George Thomson was his usual self and totally overwhelmed Bazza with non stop punching, won every round

James thomson was impressive, knocked seawright down in the second (left uppercut) then landed 2 solid left uppercuts followed by another barrage of punches , bloodied seaswrights nose and teh ref stopped it

Big shout out to Kevin McIntyre who made his debut in the ring as a referee. I thought he done a very good job. As for the show, it was very enjoyable. The main event was quality. Kris done really well getting inside thains jab and seem to hurt him a few times. Fair play to thain, who showed how fit he was getting through that fight. Good show again from Saltire.

was really impressed with the lad from bannockburn james thompson. he is a tall rangy welterweigt and looked v good against matt seawright who only very rarely gets stopped. matt tried his best to use movemnt but was unable to get away from jamses shots. good to see jamie coyle doing a great coachiong job with his boys. i wasnt impressed at all with the highlander, first time i saw him live and in imho he needs to get a day job because larry oluminobo wasnyt even trying and he wobbled him twice. if i want to see a wrestl;ing match i will watch mma or the wwe. but all round a gret show
