Brook's purse

$200k. This is rubbish negotiating from Hearn in my opinion. Brook was mandatory and was going to go to purse bids, I understand it would've been a set percentage that way but to do a deal and have the fight in America I thought Hearn would've negotiated more than 200k when Dirrell is on 500k. Maybe Frank is right after all.......

I don't understand the ins and outs of it, but I guess Frank did have a lot of points. On a fight this close, it would have been worth breaking the bank on, even taking a short term loss. This could all come down to home advantage.

Matchroom seem to look at the figures for that 1 fight and not future returns
Defo should have gone to bids... Probs worried FW would outbid him

Yeah poor purse, They should of risked and got the fight in England, even if it meant Brook would of been on something like 50k, it's a calculated risk and would of made it up with a couple of easy defences or a Khan stadium fight.

Smith & Campbell fighting for nothing too but that's understandable.

Per CSAC, Carson card purses: Porter $500k, Brook 200k, Bika 700k, Dirrell 500, Figueroa 270, Estrada 130, Wilder 50, Gavern 32,500 #boxing
More purses. Funny biz here: contracts for Luke Campbell/Callum Smith are $160.00 apiece, cost of license. Based on contract, fight 4 free.

Imagine if by some fluke either Campbell or Smith lost. That would look really bad on Eddie.

There has to be more to this, no way Cambell and Smith are fighting for free, surely?
Also, if Brook/Porter are topping the bill, how is Bika the top earner and Dirrell earning equal to Porter?
Is it possible Matchroom have agreements with their fighters not showing in the fight contracts? Surely Brook would want more than 200 thousand 'dollars'?

It's the power of Al Haymon. I think Smith & Campbell will get money from Matchroom as per their contract so matchroom will be out of pocket with them 2 so fair play in that aspect for paying for exposure.

200k is a good purse. Brook isn't known (yet) and nor is Porter, so where would the big bucks come from?

Well how is Anthony dirrell getting 500k from then? He's not exactly a huge star or an established world champion either. Regarding where the money would come from. The likes of showtime and HBO pay pretty big rights fee's.

They will be getting paid out of the uk TV money. Brook will be on a cut of that too.

How the hell is Bika getting 700k and Dirrell 500k - I don't believe those figures are correct.
Also does Brooks $200k include the money from sky?
As for Campbell and Smith, I've got to believe that Eddie will weigh them in when they get home
I'm usually the first to critise Fast Car but I'll hold back on this occasion as I'm not taking those figures as fact...although he should have tried to get the fight here but that's a different story

Direll v Bika is a much bigger fight.

Those figures do seem a bit odd. It's strange that Dirrell is on the same amount as Porter who is already a world champion. I dont know if its because the higher weight classes pay more or something. I know they're both Haymon fighters though so cant see why there would be any favouritism otherwise.

If the Sky money was reported in the US wouldn't the IRS be after that as well?

Based on the first fight being close, controversial and being on US TV.
Brook is being written off by the US casual fans.
we know which is the bigger fight, but perception can differ from reality

The total purses for the 2 are $700,000(£420,000), purse bids would probably have meant more being paid out, but for the sake of putting £600-700k up, they could have got the fight at home and given Kell a far better chance of winning, even if it meant making a loss. The money to be made from a Khan fight if Brook wins would nullify any loss made on Porter and even if they can't get Khan, give Kell a couple of easy defences, make some money, then start chasing big fights, at this stage any fighter in the division is only a win or two away from a fight against Mayweather or Pacquiao, that's where the life changing money is, not on a mandatory challenge thousands of miles from home.

It's a well known fact sky pay buttons tho. Does anyone know if sky pay per show or a 1 off amount for the 20 show deal with matchroom?
