He was a lightweight wasn't he? Didn't Greg Haugen beat him? I remember he was tall with a reach and a powerful right hand punch. He was a very good fighter but I don't think he was a great fighter. I wonder what he's doing now?

A good fighter he was indeed. But Jimmy Paul was not the best lightweight out of the Kronk Gym stable. The best lightweight from that Detroit team was Hilmer Kenty. None of the two were greats, but very good.

He was pretty good. There were a lot of relatively even lightweights in the early-mid 1980s that were on network TV (for free of course) frequently. They were good, though not great. Paul was one of them.
He beat Andy Ganigan, Harry Arroyo and Robin Blake who were decent fighters.

I remember him chopping up the unbeaten Todd Foster en route to a 7th round TKO; Paul was on the comeback trail, I believe.

Yes, best of luck to Jimmy. He was a clever and skilful boxer; I hope he has success.

It is too late for Jimmy to have success as a fighter now.
