I think what is important in ALL fights is that the correct man gets the verdict. Tonight Porter swung everything but all the clean landing and quality came from Brook. The right man won.

I'm not British, but I thought Porter won that for what it's worth. I thought he was dominant through the first 7 1/2 rounds or so. He certainly faded late, but fights are not scored on momentum. He just won too many rounds to lose it to me.

If that fight was in Texas with Texas judges would Kell have got the nod?

I don't see how Brook didn't win that, though I think a close score is justifiable. To me there was too big of a gap in clean punching for Porter to have an argument.

Precisely. From 4/5 Brook landed the cleaner better shots. Porter just threw more meaningless shots.

Yeah, this thread is kind of ridiculous. I thought Porter won, but I see no point in going through all the "yeah but...." scenarios just so everyone can wave flags and yell at each other.

I'm British, and had Porter up by two rounds, mainly because of the early rounds,

But all the better work was done by Kell. Porters style is aggressive, but does it achieve much? Running up and putting the head in, time and again....

I'm not a UK fanboy by any means, I'm from the US. But the fact is, Brook deserved the win and rightfully got it. It was a close fight, I wouldn't have been surprised or yelled robbery even if Porter got the nod. What I saw was Porter lunging in and throwing a lot of useless arm punches on the inside that was having no effect what so ever (but he was pressing the action a lot of the fight), while Brook was landing clean effective shots from the outside (a lot of nice counters and even landed some nice leads).

I don't agree with the 117-111 card, I had it closer than that. Wasn't the best fight to watch, but it was a meaningful fight and thankfully the right guy won. I just don't understand why these judges can't get fights right. A fornicating disgrace what some of these judges come up with on their scorecards.
