So they've got a new "proper" world champ who's unbeaten and now in the big time. A quick look at the IBF rankings, Brook was number one, so if the number 2 guy moves up, its Dan Ion, who turns 34 next month. Yes, the Dan Ion. A Canadian based Romanian who's 33-2 and has twice lost to Selcuk Aydin, who's a level below proper world class, I would say. Behind Ion is Bundu.

That is a pretty beatable pair of top contenders to contend with, in terms of Brook's tenure as a new world champion. Seems like all the top fighters at 147lbs hold some version of a world title and are therefore left out of the rankings of the other bodies.

The events of the past four weeks has widened the gap between Matchroom and Fwank, in my opinion. Frankie Gavin lost, and although Billie Joe won, he perhaps isn't ready to walk into a world title fight and win it. His only other top level fighter is Chisora, who won't beat Fury.

Matchroom have had a bad run with their fighters in unsuccessful world title fights over the past few months but last night's result was fantastic for them. Not sure if Brook vs Khan can fill Wembley but it is the biggest British fight out there.

I bet Fwank is in a bad mood, he's sniped at Kell for a long time, and ridiculed the lack of progress at world level that Kell has made. Looks like Kell has had the last laugh.

I expect Paul Butler to get a Super-Flyweight shot before the end of the year.

Fast Car will always have haters but when you weigh everything up without bias, Matchroom are streets ahead of Queensbury. Even when Froch retires, the future looks bright with Callum Smith, AJ, Luke Campbell and Kal Yafai. Plus the fact he seems determined to make Brook Khan, Bellew Cleverley and Quigg Frampton after the success of Froch Groves.

Of course they are ahead they have bought the best fighters. I like Eddie Hearn but lets not give him too much credit after all his success is on the back of having a rich father. Also we need some competition amongst promoters.

Don't get my wrong, he's definitely had a head start in the game but I think he is managing to take it to the next level. It's not all good, as we all know, he has a tendency to product poor under-cards but he did well with Barker, Brook (eventually) and the whole Froch Groves saga. I think he'll do well the the future crop too. The IFL relationship has really helped with exposure too.

The IFL has been brilliant for us, but we're already hardcore fans. I doubt hardly any casuals ever watch Kugan or has a clue what IFL is. It looks to me like it's something Eddie really enjoys doing and he'll help them out as much as he can.

There's no mandatory with the IBF and Butler's ranked 3, they appear to be targeting Kono, Narvaez seems to be a non starter, although he has travelled in the past and at 39 a decent payday may lure him over with the current economic situation in Argentina, Cuadras hasn't been mentioned and I don't think they'll be trying to bring him over, it's unlikely he'll travel and like you say he's fighting Jaro.

I don't know whether they'll get him a world title fight in October, but if not then, then they will in December or the new year.

I would have to say, to me Scott Quigg is a world class fighter who's holding a WBU level version of the world title.

I feel the same way, I don't doubt that Quigg's world class, but he isn't a world champion and Hearn claiming the division is running scared is laughable.

Matchroom didn't do a good job with brook... Brook did a good job for brook

3/4 years to get a shot... When it came it was away from home & a poor purse

Brook should sack them and take a % like Froch does

McJoe Arroyo beat Hernan Marquez in an eliminator and was said to have been a mandatory for the winner of Tete/Kinoshita. Whether the IBF allow him that chance or make him play the game they are making Farenas go through is yet to be seen. Tete would likely take the money if offered an opportunity to take a voluntary.

Kono's situation in Japan is a mess right now. The WBA seem unwilling to budge from the Koki fight, the JBC have banned the Kameda Gym and they are going back and forth on whether or not they will allow Koki to join UNITED. If he doesn't the Japanese papers are reporting that it will go to purse bids and be staged out of Japan.

Waiting until next year seems a long wait. I know it's not but boxing fans have short memories.

I dont believe Eddie is particularily any better than Fwank. He's just a more polished, smoother talker.

I think Quigg is a top 5, definietly top 10 super bantamweight but there is a few guys i can think of off the top of my head id fancy against him.

I'd place Quigg 5th @122. The #1 is sitting there with the real WBA belt looking for fights, he should step up and he might be able to call himself a world champion with a straight face.
