Hi all,

this is not for tributes per se, but please let us share our anecdotes and memories:

*) For a few years I sent Glyn a Christmas card each December, usually with an e-mail coming back begrudgingly offering me some sort of festive message, with the stipulated explanation that he didn't really do christmas and would quite happily get rid of the event forever (etc etc). One year I didn't do my cards until very late, but was pleasantly surprised to receive one from Glyn himself! After getting over the shock I e-mailed him apologising and saying that I did hope he wouldn't think me rude for not having sent one, or having time left to send one back. The reply: "You rude c*nt! lol"

*) Working in the BM offices (photo-sorting) in late 1999 the phone rang. Glyn answered: "Boxing Monthly.......... Trinidad............... no, Trinidad!" and then put the phone down. I asked what it was all about and he said quite often people rang up asking who won the big fight over the weekend (my brain says this was just aftre Trinidad vs ODLH). When I enquired "which sort of people?" he explained "Boxing journalists who don't know s*** about boxing and get jobs writing for national newspapers!!"

he could have been joking, he could have been serious, I was only 18/19 years old and a bit in awe of getting to work with/for him.............. but he just took such phone calls in his stride. However I do remember it, I do remember his constant zooming out for cups of tea and cheese bagels, and do remember it being wonderful "work" :-)

Glyn was a funny guy and helped out a lot of people.... His forum activity was great.

This thread was one of the funniest I've ever read/ took part in on any forum. Glyn made an appearance as Roy Finlay.... I couldn't stop laughing when he told me.

LOL, I remember that because it is probably the only time in my life I tried to act maturely. Looking back four years on my contribution makes me look like a proper fanny.

Just remember really laughing at the banter between him & Jane couch on here, he loved it & there was no airs or graces about the man he just slotted in as a fan which is a hard thing to do in his position.hes really going to missed.

I must admit, I dont even remember meeting Glyn, so cannot say anything about it, but he was a grea writer with his mag, I still buy it
