He has done a lot for boxing which goes un noticed.

Im all for acknowledging him in some way and his death is vey sad, however if he was still with us this topic would never come up. Hall of Fame should be reserved for true greats of the game, that not a knock on Glyn at all I just think this takes it too far

If Colin Hart is in, it would be an embarrassment not to induct Glyn.

Glyn's induction into the IBHOF would honour that institution as much as it would him. Hopefully it happens.

from what people say about Glyn Leach, he was a humble person - & probably didn't fantasise about the Hall of Fame like some of you are!

I sort of agree with jack, its all very sad for family friends etc when someone dies and sure the guy has done a lot for boxing, however was the like of Gary Mason put in the hall, along with several others who have sadly passed away. I think after death we have a strong personal feeling and this has a knee jerk reaction into wanting something for someone who has died.

There are lots of people in all walks of life for example all the soldiers who have died in Iraq and afghan that have not been given medals for whatever because of their sad and untimely death.

While I understand peoples kind thoughts I think we sometimes get carried away with with emotion.

Death is very sad and hurts but we cannot honour every sports person with awards because of their death. Sure some people do lots in their chosen vocation and should be remembered for that in our thoughts.

God bless all who have died.

I think he should be in for his legacy, Boxing Monthly, not because of sentiment. He kept that magazine going for 20 odd years when many others started and folded in that time. Even The Ring was finished before Oscar stepped in. So, yes from me, I think it's a remarkable achievement that it's still here, and independent, in the currant climate.

No I doubt for one minute he did fantasise about being in it. But I bet hie would be taken back if he knew that people even thought he should be nominated for it.

x2. Boxing Monthly was pretty innovative also being the first colour British based boxing magazine. Boxing Monthly got the best out of boxing news. Glyn wasn't just the editor but he was the owner also.

As great as the likes of Howard Cosell and Harry Carpenter were they were essential sports journalists/presenters who were most well known for their boxing. In some ways you could say the editor/tv execs who got Cosell and Carpenter these boxing gigs are more deserving than the men themselves who were just doing their jobs.

Glyn was the editor in chief of one of the major publications of the sport for what, 25 years, he wrote thousands of articles, and was regarded by his peers as one of the very best in the business. He was a man of journalistic integrity, who told it like it was, and covered the sport with an honest eye and deeply held conviction, which is about all you can ask for in any journalist.

If he's feted by Graham Houston (a man I personally respect and admire for his work), that tells you all you need to know.

For me, he's a lock for the hall of fame, and if he isn't, he should be.

As a journalist, he should be 1st ballot for his honesty/integrity alone.

Surely the longest single run as editor/owner of a Boxing Magazine?
