Ali Raymi brings 21 first round knockouts in 21 fights to face fellow unbeaten Abdu Rafik (4-0), in what seems to be a tune-up for the power punching Raymi. IBO #1 Raymi awaits for a super fight with either Zou Shiming or Guillermo Rigondeaux, to hopefully take place in early 2015.

Also on the card, 15 year old undefeated boxing prodigy Ali Rafik (5-0) continues to show that he's a tough child who can compete in a "Man's world" as he tussles with pro debuting Murad Ahmad in a four round showcase.

I wonder if Raymi can rise to the top of the boxrec rankings without fighting anyone recognizable.
The point gaps between him and the guys ranked above him (#1-4) are getting more significant- how can he make up the difference fighting the same level of 'opposition?'

Still convinced... this is a premeditated plan to rise up the major software-based rankings in the sport (IBO, BoxRec).

Raymi is already #1 at IBO... though the org does not rank "Big 4" titleholders. As Chuck said though, they better be doing some major point pooling to provide Raymi a "good" enough opponent to move up at BoxRec.

I wonder if Ali Rafik will take over in the next year or two? Raymi is already 40... while Rafik is just 15.

I'm holding out for Rodriguez (21) to move up in division.... Prince Maz to get some more points and fight Raymi in a widely anticipated rematch.

Ali Raymi is #70 with the IWBR never having beaten a top a 100 boxer or indeed a boxer that has even faced another boxer from the top 100. Which is almost impossible unless scripted.

I wonder if Ali Raymi is listed as a boxer with fightfax.

...the more I hear about fightfax the more curios I get in regards to their record keeping in the east.

Also the IWBR aren't perfect on their record keeping. I.e. they list Palangpol CP Freshmart as 2-0 not 4-0, from what I see it looks like Kwanthai is still ranked but Stamp Kiatniwat isn't (all men mentioned here fight at 108). Sure there are plenty of other similar things.

You are right on IWBR record keeping is not 100%, I dont think anyone's is. IWBR is not a live system so the fights you mention are in August so; Stamp is in having beaten Kwanthai and CP beating Joan Imperial moves him to 4-0, he was 3-0 in IWBR for August 1st ratings not 2-0. I don't see your point though?

The point is that you can hardly claim others have bad rankings when yours are out of date within 2 days of any month (the TBRB is weekly for what that's worth). I'm not saying Raymi should be top 5 or top 25 but with no site having a REAL collection of records from fighters in the east it's impossible, especially in the lower weights, to know how good a lot of these fighters are.

Likewise you guys rank Boy Dondee Pumar at 115, a weight he's not made in over 3 years! I'm not staying Nop Kratingdaenggym SHOULD be in the rankings but he should be ranked ahead of Pumar considering one of them actually fights at that weight and the other doesn't.

As you can tell, ANY rankings can be ripped apart so to act like all others are terrible and yours is the best is laughable, just like the boxrec rankings themselves.

Thanks for pointing that out re Dondee Pumar, weights are often not reported from the East. If you can find any other mistakes I would be greatfull.

The article on boxrec news or on the main great pages sum up exactly how I feel about Raymi
