Ambunda is out of the Quigg fight guys, not sure who he will end up with lets hope Eddie is in a good mood after Kell and we get a decent opponent.

Was looking forward to that fight. Short enough notice to bring someone in. Oscar Escandon (WBA #2) is coming off a win earlier this month so should be still in decent nick or Carlos Zambrano (WBA #7) who has a scheduled fight on the 30th of August would be two likely candidates.

Zambrano seems like a very suitable opponent. He's presumably in training and has a perfect record that would look nice on Quigg's resume at first glance, but has fought no one and doesn't seem to have much power, meaning he'll probably have to win a decision as the away fighter to take the title. I've reviewed some footage and I believe that Quigg should beat him handily, although he's better than I expected and I think he's probably better than someone like Prado.

At least they could say Quigg is fighting an unbeaten opponent on short notice!

Should rename this show 'Keeping Busy' or 'Ticking Over'

Even Crolla saying a 'big fight' later in the year too.

For main events at an arena show these are very poor.

Said it ages ago for this should have just fought Galahad on this card. Personally think there is a good chance Quigg would beat him easily but Hearn must see a risk in that fight.

i think they are matching Quigg correctly.... he isn't good enough for the top boys, he would only lose his title

i give matchroom enough stick.. but with regards to Quigg i think they are doing a awesome job

I don't disagree, however Matchroom shouldn't expect me to buy tickets to watch it.

I would actually love to see Quigg fight the likes of Galahad, McDonnell, Dickens (and obviously Frampton) rather than some obscure boxer I have never heard of and dress it up as a genuine World Title.

This exactly, theyre not doing too bad for Quiggs career but don't put it as headline in an arena and call it a world title fight!

I didn't hear the news that Matchroom were now forcing people to buy tickets. If you don't want to buy a ticket, then don't buy a ticket, they won't be offended.

Both valid points.....imo to save a pretty much unsavable show, easily the worst on paper matchroom as done for a couple of years Hearn needs to get galahad to fight. No excuses now as I guarentee the replacment he's thinking of getting has done exactly as much as galahad to deserve a shot.

...so you've heard of all the good fighters? Plenty of guys from the east would be "obscure" though make for good world class opponents. I've mentioned Wake in the past that many won't be aware of, I doubt any would be familiar with Shohei Omori but he's another who would be an interesting opponent, though probably a little inexperienced.

Wow,the Liverpool shows were far worse and were just a showcase.Eggerton-Vassell,(quality fight imo)Cardle-Goodings and Crolla-Diaz(better then most think it will be) and Joshua-step up against a durable opponent is a decent show and better then allot shows in the country.I doubt anyone who brought tickets will know the difference between Amandu and whatever guy they end up getting.The show will do around 5000 and will end up being better then most think it will be.

Liverpool show had big names but it was very onesided. This card only has 2 names on and both fights are crap. Maybe your right and the undercard with vassell and cardle will be good fights but I'm looking at the main event and it looks shite

The main event is likely to be poor I agree but I feel the undercard will be decent and has a couple of competative fights so all in all the card won`t be to bad,also I don`t think Crollas opponent is that bad at all, his record is deceptive and I only think Crolla is domestic level and could lose this,so I think that's a decent fight,but I could be proved wrong.

Personally I want to see competitive fights so the Egginton v Vassell & Goodings v Cardle will do for me. As I can remember there wasnt 1 competitive fight on the Liverpool bill.
