Just watched some of Hodkinson's fights. He reminds me of a lesser version of McGuigan. He had big power but he didn't have the tools to beat Esparragoza. Had this happened, I think Antonio weathers the early storm with his good movement and solid defense, picks it up in the middle rounds, starts landing his quicker and more technically sound combinations through Hodkinson's mediocre defense, and stops him around round 9 or so. I noticed Vargas was able to land the uppercut on Paul and Esparragoza''s was better, as he used it in combination with the left hook to stop the advance of aggressive guys.

Hoko was very good against shorter men, his own build; he had a lovely economical style and a very powerful and compact left hook. Marcos Villasana busted him up around the eyes in their first bout, I remember watching it and it was a real shame as Paul had boxed well. Antonio was better all round than Marcos and a bigger hitter; he'd have ground Paul down like he did Stevie Cruz.
