I hope he doesn't fight Cotto, he will be battered from start to finish and it wont go past ten rounds in my eyes.

I agree, Cotto is just a notch off elite

Cotto is on the verge of a massive payday against Canelo, I'd see that fight doing over 1.2M PPV buys in the US(Mayweather v Canelo did 2.2M, Mayweather v Maidana about 870k). Lee's last KO win could be the spanner in the works that makes the fight a little too risky.

If Lee can continue to make LMW, he might just get that winnable shot, possibly against Andrade who is certainly untested even less so than Porter for example.

Failing that, he's always got the decent payday against Macklin in Ireland if he has a word with uncle Eddie. A lot in Lee's favour right now.

I'd defo fancy him over Macklin at the moment but the weight difference may be an issue.

I am not sure where Lee is at right now....but a fight with either Cotto or Macklin makes perfect sense for him. He and Miguel could make a fortune together in New York and Cotto would presumably fancy it as a very well paid, winnable but credible tune-up before 'El Grande' with Alvarez. Alternatively....there's a tasty, all-Ireland dust up with MM out there.

Manny Steward really saw something in Lee (so who am I to argue) and Chavez's various antics with his weight at MW will leave a cloud hanging over how good he was and whether he won entirely fairly.....but I am still not entirely sold on Andy. Maybe Soliman is the way to go...leaving Cotto, GGG and Quillin well alone?

Im sorry but I just don't rate andy lee, gets hit far too easily and far too often. I know this makes good viewing but he is a car crash waiting to happen. adam booth normally focus' his time training slicksters who can bang, I just don't see lee as a slickster as he eats too much leather. he has a serious dig on him ill agree but he just wont make the top.

I agree. The great KO in his last bout also seems to be obscuring that he was dropped, down by 3 points on each card, and generally looking poor against a mediocre 154 pounder.

Absolutely, could not àgree more. Cracking ko though it was, its acted as a smokescreen masking his mediocrity.

That was Andys first time hitting the canvas,he deserves a bit more credit i feel.

The knockdown was just one factor in him looking poor and seconds prior to the KO he was hurt and being teed off on, which is partly why the KO was so great as it came from nowhere. He also recently struggled with journeyman types in Horta and Fitzgerald, so the doubts about him aren't based on one showing.

He must look like an ideal voluntary to a lot of champs; vaguely popular and flawed/beatable. And until his last fight no great rep as a puncher.

Its only my opinion mate, I just see him getting hit too often. He is an entertaining fighter, just not top notch. no shame in that.
