Seems odd. Maybe it's the whole al vs jay z thing coming into play.

There is an Al vs Jay Z feud? Maybe he's spending time with his newborn baby.

Haymon probably prefers Quillin getting stripped to losing to Korobov.

Surely this must be some sort of negotiation tactic. Why ruin a $1.4m payday?

It's only ruined on the internet at this point. It happens all the time.

Does Haymon get anything ? If not, that would explain it.

Of course he does.

Heymon's his manager, I would assume he gets a piece of every one of his fights, regardless of promoter.

What is an average manager's cut ?

No idea. Maybe 5-10%? That's just a guess.

More like 15-20%

I think 10-15% is fairly standard, I believe Al is 20-25%.

Standard cut is 33.3% though sum states allow 50% cut. I doubt Haymon takes the standard 33.3% but who knows

30% is insane, let alone 50%. Agents in team sports like baseball and basketball generally make around 10% don't they? The business of boxing is so damn shady.

Haymon was in the music business before, Beyonce actually sued him once.

"The documents, which are available to the public, claim that Live Nation executive Faisel Duranni is serving as the president of Beyonce's management company, Parkwood Entertainment; that Live Nation has been successful in its effort to procure rights to a Beyonce world tour and recently paid her $4 million for unspecified reasons; and that "representatives of Live Nation suggested to Beyonce or her representatives that [Mathew Knowles] had conspired with one Al Haymon to defraud Beyonce."

Finally, the allegation that Knowles conspired with Haymon to defraud Beyonce is striking, to say the least. One of the most successful R&B promoters of all time, Haymon has a relationship with Live Nation dating back to the early days of concert-promoter consolidation. Under the SFX banner, Live Nation's previous incarnation acquired 51% of Al Haymon Enterprises in 1999, then made it a controlling interest in 2008, and in April of 2010 acquired the remaining 49% interest, according to SEC filings. Haymon has been active as a promoter within the Live Nation family, listed as co-promoter on Jay-Z tours and recently on Lil Wayne's "I Am Still Music" tour. The reclusive promoter rarely gives interviews and has always operated away from the spotlight, but according to sources, Haymon is still actively part of the Live Nation network of promoters. Thus, in effect, Knowles is saying Live Nation accused one of its own promoters of conspiring with Knowles in the alleged misdealings."

its simple both Peter and Al Haymon knows Quillin will loose this fight so they will do anything to not take it.

They got only two days to sign, no more extensions. They may sign, and in two months Quillin will get an injury.

I've seen Quillin a few times and he's ok but I'm not that excited about his fights, strikes me as a run of the mill type of fighter at present.

Quillin and his management are pussies. They've run scared from Triple G in the past and are now trying to avoid Korobov. Anyone that refers to Quillin as a champion is a chump just like him.

Rumour has it that Quilling may forfeit his title and fight Danny Jacobs (also managed by Al Haymon).

... and get less money ? Haymon will probably get more though. If it happens, Quillin is a big pussy.
