When Quigg drew with Salinas in his first defence,it was a close fight that i thought Scott won but after the fight Scott said that he was boxing to orders and that he was waiting for Joe Gallagher to tell him to start opening up on Salinas

It seemed after the fight that Quigg was telling the truth and he probably could have got going earlier in the fight as he didnt look too gassed and it was a wise move not to stand in front early with Salinas as he was quick and sharp,so in that sense it was the right thing to do but i do wonder if Joe made an error in leaving it too late to up the pace in such a close fight


The only reason i bring it up is i was speaking about it today and there's only been about 5 post's in the last 2 hours

Salinas was knocked out by a guy with with a 15-7 record in his last fight in 5 rounds

I remember reading that actually,as i said i thought Quigg won(116-113) so felt that Joe got the gameplan spot on, despite drawing it was good to hear that Quigg was working specifically to a plan also but i cant remember how most fans saw it,its not a "bash Gallagher post" more a tactical one

It was a rubbish gameplan.

Quigg should have been fighting at a decent pace from the start. The slow pace allowed Salinas to win rounds that he wouldn't have won otherwise.

Gallaghers plan wasn't spot on because Quigg got a draw.

I don't understand how after say 10 rounds a boxer who is fit enough and not in danger wouldn't step it up - after all it was a "world" title fight, and a boxer should not leave the ring with gas in his tank as that might be his only chance.
