Alex Leapai vs Malik Scott - Crossroads

Who wins this one? This fight is probably not interesting for many, because Leapai lost to Klitschko, and Scott got knocked out by Wilder & quit against Chisora. Battle of the losers?

I think its a nice bout. Scott isn't too bad, got robbed against Glazkov, has been doing good against Chisora, until he dropped & Wilder, well... he wouldn't have gone the distance with him anyway. Leapai atleast beat Boytsov, who has been considered as 'Klitschko-Beater' by many.

I can see this fight going one of three possible ways:

1) Leapai knocks Scott out.
2) Scott is doing good for 1/2 half, fades lately, it gets close & he gets robbed.
3) Scott is staying on distance, outboxing him for 10 rounds, winning a decision.

Scott would have to be shot to lose to Leapai. Alex is snail slow.

I picked Scott UD. Either fighter could win, but I think Leapai is vastly overrated on boxrec.com due to his upset over Boytsov, who was also overrated. The fact is, Leapai's entire career outside of that one fluke paints a much different picture about who he is as a fighter. I think Leapai belongs somewhere around #55 on boxrec. Lack of any other achievement except beating Okello Peter, and getting KO'd by Kevin Johnson is my primary evidence. So, in conclusion, I think Scott's better and will win.

Scott is an idiot in the ring. His Chisora "mistake" and pathetic, apathetic attempt against Wilder really pounded that point home. He has all the skills to beat Leapai...but then he had all the skills to be undefeated and he's not.

I would agree (to 95%)

He definitely has all the tools to beat Leapai, he's faster, he's awkward, has a long range, is no easy target like Boytsov was. But does he have the skills to be undefeated? Glazkov wasn't a loss, but his stamina cost him the win. He didn't do enough in the 2nd half, and let Glazkov get back in the fight. That would have been a very good win...

He did good against Chisora, but the fight wasn't over yet, and that was twice as hard as the Glazkov fight. I would have predicted a 115-113 (maybe robbery) for Chisora after 12 rounds. It was scheduled for 10? Anyway...

And i don't know how he wants to beat Wilder. He may have the skills, (defense, cleverness, heart not included) but nobody went the distance with this big guy yet. How does Scott wants to do it, with his chin made in china?

Scott by UD, unless he takes a dive like he did against Wilder.

He's chin isn't china, his heart is. He's is more technically sound that Wilder or Chisora, and his lack of shape/heart also showed through against Glazkov. He's just happy to get checks and not try.
