Peter Quillin vacated his WBO title today instead of signing to face mandatory challenger Matvey Korobov. BJS is ranked behind Korobov at #2, so he may be able to face the Russian for the vacant title.

Do you think that would be a good route for him, or should he continue focusing on a Eubank fight?

edit: As of Oct 6th it seems that Korobov and Lee will fight for the vacant title on December 13th in Dublin .

Also, Andy Lee is #3 so he could be involved if one of them turns it down.

Never been that impressed by Korobov though I have the suspicion he has another gear. BJS impressed me early in his career but those memories are long gone. Korobov stops the Brit if they fight.

Lee Vs Korobov would be more interesting.

Korobov and Saunders would appear to have similar profiles. Decorated amateurs who don't have much knockout power in the Pro's

In the early days Korobov looked one of the best prospects in the world. He now looks a completely different and much less impressive fighter. For BJS' sake I hope his transformation from being very good to being a bit crap is permanent.

I'd give BJS a great chance of out boxing Korobov, especially if Uncle F can get home advantage. Possibly time to push the boat out again. BJS might not get a better chance.

Strange move from Quillin vacating. His last fight was terrible and he's hardly a big name over in the US. Maybe it will become clearer with time.

Koborov beats Saunders. Eubank Jr beats them both.

I know what you mean regarding Koborov. It's almost as if he's peaked without peaking.

Had the chance to become BJS mandatory last year and ducked the fight and still hasn't stepped up.

Don't get me wrong I rated him a year ago and thought he was ready to fight for domestic titles then but continuously fighting pi$$ poor opposition makes me think his father is protecting him. Or he is protecting GGG from a vicious beating

Boxing Scene reporting that Franck Warren and Bob Arum are in talks for Saunders Vs. Korobov to potentially feature on the Fury Vs. Chisora card in November.

Hopefully, Lee gets the winner. He is too close in the rankings for him to throw a good chance at a World title away.

Does anyone know what the actual deal is with Quillin's decision......as some people have mentioned, Korobov seems to be a fighter in constant tick-over mode these days and his best stuff might already be behind him. I find it difficult to think that Peter is hiding away in a locked cupboard and anxiously hugging his comfort blanket at the prospect of this fight.

Educated guess is that it is either weight or maybe he's on Cotto's radar and does not need the hassle of Korobov?

WBO twitter saying announcement at 4pm guess that's AST so 40 mins or so. Think it would be very harsh on BJS to miss out but seems there's precedent with Mikey Garcia.

Andrade gets it, what a load of bollocks, never shown any intention of moving up in the past, then at the last minute he decides he wants the shot and they give it him. What's the point of having rankings if #1 and #2 don't fight for the vacant title. I would assume this means that Andrade has now vacated his light middleweight belt.

Probably just mandatory to fight for a final eliminator to become the mandatory to the champion, not mandatory to fight the champion,

It seems like Haymon might of advised him to drop the belt rather than having to deal with Jay Z's rocnation outfit (they dont get along if you havent heard)

The worst part of that is the very strong likelihood that we're now going to see Rose go on another title run .....
