It Was Actually Lewis Who Didn't Want The Bowe Fight

For years I have heard that Bowe avoided Lennox, but if Lennox REALLY wanted that fight he would have publically insulted Bowe degrading
him in some way, shape, or form..... I have never seen the footage of Lennox crashing a Bowe post press conference challenging Bowe the way
Antonio Tarver did to Roy Jones...or the way David Haye crashed Chisora's post fight press conference.

Keep fooling yourselves......

Lennox never really wanted that fight himself....

That small run in was actually by mistake as Lennox was doing commentary that doesnt count.....

He never actually crashed a Bowe post fight that's all I'm saying!!! :TU:

He wanted no part of Bowe 92-96

So Lewis calling Bowe 'Chicken Bowe' post fight live on tv to Bowe's face is meaningless, or did you just not see it?

Lewis has everyone fooled in thinking Bowe was the coward out of the two

Yes Bowe wasn't excited about fighting Lennox but let Lennox crash one of his post fights and insult him, insult his family, his character, etc.....

Bowe would've beat his ass!!!

Lennox KNEW what landmines not to step on with Bowe.......

Nice edit, kid.

He didn't do this thing I'm saying he should have done but I'm discounting the thing he did do which is actually what I said he should do as meaningless because I edited my post and didn't realise he had done and it would make look stupid.

Okay. xx

At the end of the day, Lewis was number one challenger for the WBC and Bowe and his team gave up the belt rather than fight him. Sing and dance all you want.

Okay....

If Lewis wanted the fight provide me a clip of him showing up to the post fight to challenge Bowe....

Where is it????

I have never seen the footage of Lewis showing up to the post fight of conference of Holyfield, Donald, Hide, Mathis, Gonzales, etc....

Gonzales really chased Bowe and chatized him publically and look what happened!

Where is Lewis?

Bowe would've BEATEN Lennox's ass 92-96 he was the stronger pressure fighter with the better CHIN. Lewis and his team knew this so this is

why they were not all that aggressive in pursuing a Bowe fight. :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes:

But hey! Mention the olympic victory to make his name relevant!

Not aggressive? So positioning their fighter as the number one challenger for his belt isn't enough of a chase? What world do you live in?

Bowe was a great fighter, no doubt. But his team wanted nothing to do with Lennox at that time, so they dropped the belt. The fight was nearly signed when Lewis lost to McCall, but it doesn't change anything.

When a fighter publicly bins his belt rather than fight the challenger, you blame the challenger for not pursuing hard enough?

Care to explain that lack of logic, Bnov?

Why keep editing your posts? Just make new ones....

Also, who mentioned the Olympic fight? You just edited it into your post...

Are you okay?

Like I said Bowe wasn't all that crazy about fighting Lennox we know this!!!!

But had Lewis been more aggressive calling out Bowe at post fights that would have been his ass!!!!!!

Bowe would have surely taken the bait!!!!

Lewis never really pursued Bowe other than it was ordered by some boxing organization as a mandatory!!!

Lewis never took it to the streets showing up to one of Bowe's post fights NO ONE SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!!!! :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame:

Where is the footage?????

That's right!!!

Mention the olympics to keep your name out there but in all honestly he NEVER wanted Bowe either!!!! :OhYes: :OhYes:

We've already been over the time Lewis was ringside post one of Bowe's fights...

Seriously, and I ask this with genuine concern, are you okay?

That was by accident are you serious? Lewis was doing commentary for the UK covering the Bowe vs Holy fight and Bowe just happened to

walk by Lennox. Lennox never entered or crashed a Bowe post fight!!!! Everyone knows by now that when a fighter really wants a seal a fight

is to show up to the post fight to publically call out the fighter!!! Lewis never ONCE crashed Bowe post fight!!!

I agree that Bowe would have beaten Lennox.

I've never been sure if Riddick agreed with me.

No reason for Lewis to be worried about fighting Bowe as a pro. No reason why Lewis wouldnt have done it again.

Except that Bowe was better than Lennox at that time. Once again...not sure Bowe knew it or believed it. And sometimes it aint about the skill set.

They asked George Foreman about this fight and he gave an unusually lucid and memorable quote: "I think one guy's afraid and the other guy is glad for it..."

Wow...that was an awesome quote!!!!!!!!! :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU:

Bowe was scared but at the same time Lennox was like "Whew! I'm Not Going To Chase Him That Belt Dumping Was Enough & We Will Leave

It As That! Lol"

Lennox never crashed a Bowe post fight conference and this alone says enough!

92-96 I really do feel that Bowe was too strong for Lennox!!! Very determined and one hell of an inside fighter.....with a GREAT chin! Who will

get up from off the canvas!!!! Lennox doesn't recover when rocked hard and unexpected.... Bowe will get up!!!!

I am not sure if it was a "post fight" press conference, but Lewis did appear at a Bowe press conference a few years after the trash can episode. He was in the crowd and stood up and was asking for a fight with Bowe.
Rock Newman then said something like "Will all fighters who have been stopped by Oliver McCall please sit down".

I always thought the McCall-Lewis stoppage was premature, but that was a good line by Newman.

I'm not sure what the obsession with crashing press conferences is - frankly I have more respect for boxers who don't resort to that kind of childish behaviour, although I realise it's mostly for show. At the same time, I agree that Lewis wasn't desperately chasing the fight and I'd have taken Bowe over him up until late '95, I'd take the Lewis who dismantled Tommy Morrison to beat the Bowe who was nearly stopped by a sick Evander in their third fight.
