SKY Sports News are the pits *Frampton / Martinez spoiler*

Well it's been 40 mins or so since Frampton won the IBF title yet SKY Sports News have not mentioned the result at all. It's not been on their rolling ticker and has not been mentioned by the 2 in the studio. This for me is disgusting. If this was Scott Quigg or a Matchroom fighter it would probably be their leading story. This is nothing short of biased reporting and shows how unhealthy the Matchroom "monopoly" is. Their failure to mention the fight at all is piss poor from the UK's leading sports broadcaster. It's no good for the fans or the sport.

It's on their website clearly. People have complained before that Sky sports report the result of a fight (on a rival channel) when people may be wanting to watch it on a repeat etc.

SKY don't do this for Premiership games shown on BT Sports or for sports they don't have broadcast rights for like Wimbledon or the World Cup. I can't believe they are acting like the fight hasn't even happened. They are the UK's only dedicated sports news channel. Very worrying. It's as if boxing is only worth reporting if it features a member of Eddie's camp.

Maybe they are Sky Sports ..... news - i.e News from sports / events on Sky Sports?

"Corporation in 'not rushing to promote rival' shocker"

All "News" and information were given is carefully chosen - wikileaks?

I hope not as there will be no coverage of the Champions League or Europa League from next year when it moves exclusively to BT Sports.

Sports news is sports news regardless of whether it's on SKY or not. A Brit winning a legitimate world title is big news..... unless your not a Matchroom fighter it seems. Even Johnny Nelsons "comeback" featured heavily on SKY Sports News through the week for f'sake.

Out of interest did the UK's only dedicated boxing channel mention Roman Gonzalez's win over Akira Yaegashi?

The point I'm making is about clear biased reporting, what's yours?

That neither channel does what it should do. A dedicated boxing channel shouldn't avoid the result of an elite fighter and a British sports news channel shouldn't ignore sports news involving a Brit.

True however only one of them has avoided giving the result of the respective fight any coverage due to either being biased or a pre determined agenda.

Because being biased against the smaller weight fighters and fights from Asia isn't biased? Some could describe the fact that a specialist boxing channel has NEVER shown a fight from the Orient as biased, or racist... allegedly have certainly shown a bias towards giving extra attention to fighters affiliated with allegedly and have rarely mentioned fighters on the other channel, barring a handful of exceptions.

Its a piss take we have to search for a stream to see a great fight when bnation haven't shown much for the last 2 weeks, surely it wouldn't cost them much to get at least the world title fights in Asia...

They showed the pro debut of flyweight Zou Shiming live from China and various Top Rank cards from Macau since including Rigondeuxs super bantamweight tile defence against Thailands Sod Kokietgym. Buncey claims he has invited various Matchroom fighters on his Boxing Hour show, but Eddie Hearn won't let them feature.

This. I actually thought they'd be showing it so a little bit gutted! When you're paying for a Boxing only channel you kind of assume they'll be showing a bill featuring Matthysse/Broner/Berto... :-?

You'd think it was a given, seeing they have a broadcast deal with the promoter. They need to keep delivering each week to get my £12 per month.

Sorry I was meaning Asian promoted shows, as in those run by ALA, OnesongChai, Teiken, Ohashi, Watanabe. You're right they have shown the Top Rank stuff. :TU:

Going to grab that one in the morning, unless I can find a reliable stream.

Your right, zero Asian promoted shows. I've Tweeted them so many times asking for Japanese boxing to be added to the schedule. I'd watch live boxing every night, from anywhere if I could. Sparring in the Boxrec forums will keep me busy in the interim

Minority Sport broadcast on another channel of course there not going to give it the "breaking news" treatment

Was posted on there website quickly which is good enough for me

So you're getting wound up about Sky not immediately telling you the result of a fight you'd just watched and knew the result of?

I'm guessing you had another thread ready to post along the lines of "Those Sky w@nkers gave out the result of the Frampton fight on SSN when they know that some people might be waiting to watch the replay"

The biggest fight that can be made for all parties is Frampton v Quigg (with all due respect to Rigo and Santa Cruz, a domestic superfight is where the real money is), so it doesn't make a great deal of sense for Sky to pretend that Frampton doesn't exist. Eddie has tweeted his congrats to Framptons team and says of the Quigg fight "It's going to happen".

"...By the Space Year 2340. Until then, here's some bantamweights!!"

Seriously, I don't mind them fighting for the British World championship, it's all Nige & Chwis did back in the day, mostly. But please, it doesn't need a fvcking year of fighting bantamweights to build the fight.

That'll just make me hate (more, I mean), & I'll end up making voodun dolls of one or either of them & praying Anonymous "Teak-Tough" African Bantamweight #34 or Was Good Six Years Twenty Fights & Three Divisions Ago Latino Bantamweight #15 get lucky & fvck up everyone's greedy, grubby little scam.
