I know there's probably been a thread about Hughie already but does anyone know what's going on with him?

He had a dozen fights in his first ten months as a pro then just two in the next ten months. I remember hearing his dad mention growing pains (he even threw in the word 'puberty' ) but is he ok. I also remember a tweet of his mentioning that he had problems with his hands.

I remember his first pro bout. I was so impressed with his poise & maturity. Hopefully he can get back in the ring at his physical best.

been ill with some kind of virus returning October. I hope they have given him enough time off to recover but my worry is they haven't time will tell.

I don't know. Still early days for them both yet. Just because Anthony is blowing everyone away doesn't mean he's the better prospect. Look at David Price*. Hughie looked fantastic early on. I'm not sure what his ailments are but they seem to have affected him.

Me and numerous others mentioned his questionable chin prior to Thompson, but it was fairly common for people to dismiss, downplay, or ignore his countless incidents of fragility with arguments such as 'he was just a kid when those happened!', 'everyone gets hurt', and after the first loss 'Thompson landed behind the ear and anyone would've been done by the same shot'. Even now Ron Lewis maintains that Price's chin is fine, though it seems like most acknowledge that it's not.

I'm fairly confident that Joshua will have a better career than Hughie and beat him should they fight, but I think Joshua is somewhat overrated in that I've seen numerous claims that he's already a top HW, is virtually a lock to be an elite HW, or is the future of the division. He's promising but he's shown flaws and still has many questions to answer.

Yeah technical ability it might be Hughie > Joshua, but for power and definitely star quality it's Joshua > Hughie. Aspects like chin and heart are yet to be determined and could hold the answer to who goes further!

Lots of people that followd price in the AMS knew he had been on the deck 16 times or something like that , wasn't it Tyson Fury that said that Price had been on the deck more times than a set of epileptics front door keys

Hughie's power is an unknown as he has not reached his full strength yet owing to his extreme youth. Joshua by contrast is a fully mature man. The big question round Hughie at the moment is whether his long standing virus has gone in my experience these virus's that have been around for years usually take a very long time to go away so I am worried he has come back too soon and will relapse.
