Out of all the amateurs from Scotland to turn over I reckon this guy style is made for pro's!

Hi Jamie mate, i have to disagree about his style mate. Don't get me wrong Connor is a very talented counter punching boxer but he struggles when he has to come forward hence why he lost to Lewis Benson, Lewis just didn't commit and Connor couldn't close the space properly without being picked off in a close fight. Connor also isn't the biggest puncher either, but on the other side I think he really could turn out to be successful if he carries on working on his come forward game and also planting his feet a bit more to generate a bit more power!! Connor style needs work to blend into the pro style imo

I've watched him and faced him many times in the amateur ranks since he was a kid and the change in the scoring system didn't work best for him, Stevie McGuire is as good a coach as any to help him work on his come forward part of his style and he will work him hard to be in shape. Good luck to him and Stevie. I wish Connor all the best for his pro career and hope he continues learning and fulfils the potential that his skill set can take him

I have got a lad from Newcastle called Lewis Ritson he reached final of ABA's and represented England his style is brilliant for the pros and I see massive improvement in him

Gilmour announced he was going into retirement two month ago wee dinosaur he is

Gilmour sold the St Andrews Sporting Club but he remains as president or chairman. I'm sure he's still managing fighters though.

Haha Billy you really are a complete legend of the boxing world. Only when you get a fighter they become a different level. I am surprised you have not have 30 World Champions. Your a good trainer but you are the biggest waffler on here. Got to say though your loyalty when a fighter is with you is outstanding. If it was an award for positive thinking towards your own then you would deffo get that. Good luck to the lad

The thing is he's a proven top amateur, England Internationalist and ABA finalist so he got a massive head start, also he's sparring experienced unbeaten pros and doing great.

Yes I have heard about him. But wasn't even the best amateur in England mate. Got quite a few loses and against kids who have not long turned pro?? You see him in the gym so you know best but you will big up whoever is in your gym anyway.. It's a good quality just sets yourself up for a big fail if they lose or ever leave you

he's beat the best in Scotland very easily Davie, I said he was a top amateur not the best, he his only a 20 year old with huge talent and will only get better watch this space.

Think you might be talking about Stewart Burt Billy? Ritson beat Burt 20-11 in 2011.

Billy was David Mcallister that you replied too not me there ha.. Would need to contact him anyway for any sparring. I'm sure I seen the boy in the ABA final last year in a very messy bout with a guy who has a cracking name think of Asian origin.. He lost but can see he had ability I thought he had a very amateur friendly style but I only seen 1 fight.
