I know that the last 15 round fights were in the 1980s, but when did Boxers stop fighting 20 rounders?.

Not sure exact answer ; I know Joe Louis' 1st fight with Big Abe Simon was scheduled for 20 rounds. That was around 1940 - 1941.

20 round bout at Boise, Idaho.

I think the last heavyweight boxing match to go the full 20 rounds was
Max Baer vs King Levinsky in 1932 in Reno NV.

The Jack Johnson vs Frank Moran title defense in June 1914 in Paris France was scheduled and went for 20 rounds.
then they stopped 20 round title fights for the next 25 years,
up until the rematch of Joe Louis vs Bob Pastor title fight in September 1939 which was scheduled for 20 rounds(Louis TKO's Pastor in 11)

*Jack Johnson vs Jess Willard in Havana Cuba in April 1916 was scheduled for 45 rounds.

Thank you, I take that as a compliment.

Baer-Levinsky is the last one I can find as well. Baer also went 20 rounds against Uzcudun. Jack Dempsey promoted and refereed the fight, and as sole judge gave the decision to Uzcudun. Baer was a friend of Dempsey's.

Tom Heeney fought 10 fights that went 20 rounds in the 1920s. I'm sure someone had more, but that is quite a few.

The last scheduled 20-rounder was in 1971 with light-heavyweights Brian Kelly and Alonzo Harris in Oklahoma City. These two had fought two 12-rounders that were close, with Kelly winning both. So the promoter scheduled it for 20-rounds. Kelly won by a TKO in 10.

I believe 20-rounders started going out of vogue in the 1920s with the passage of the Walker Law, which provided for a 15-round maximum for fights. Other commissions began following this. Soon, they became a rarity.
