I'm looking to get tickets to the Chisora Fury fight at the Excel and saw that prices are pretty steep starting at £43 for tiered seats........Has anyone been to an event at the excel before? If so what is the view like? Anyone know what the capacity will be for this event?

Hello mate. I went there to see hatton v oliviera.we actually paid for expensive seats but there were no tear seats up the front. So whenever anybody landed a punch people in front never stayed sat and you couldn't see a thing. By the end we left and stood up on the cheap seats. In future I'd go for the cheap ones at the back. Further back but your not brought to wanting to chin the selfish fecks keep standing and ruining your view

I was thinking that, because as it is a smallish venue, you'll still get a decent view from the cheaper tiered seats so good to know this is right

Ive got tickets in block 1 (tiered) somewhere around the front (£83 a ticket)... I went for tiered because my GF is a short ass lol

Not entirely sure what the view will be like, but you can get an idea by typing excel boxing into google and then clicking on images!

And capacity is a bit of a weird one at the excel....

For the 2012 Summer Olympics, ExCeL London was divided into five sports halls with capacities ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 that were used for boxing, fencing, judo, taekwondo, table tennis, weightlifting, and wrestling. So Im not sure with that one. Do they actually just make up the arena before the show???

Also, where did you see about the 10% discount, lost out on £18 there

In order for viewers to redeem their ticket discount they must enter their Sky viewing card number in the allegedly Promotion code field on the selected event at eventim.co.uk.

suspect it depends on how many seats they lay out on the floor...but not bad - went there for prizefighter

Aye, on the eventim website there's an interactive seating plan and you can choose where you want to sit. Tiers 1 and 3 are the best as there is only 16 rows of seating in front of them whereas tiers 2 and 4 have 40+ rows in front of them.

I would suggest the £50 tickets in tier 3 are the best. Try and get them in line with the ring - anywhere between seat 79 and 104.

And actually its only 14, for some reason theres no row I or O... Theres 44 seats infront of you if you choose tiers 2 and 4, so yeah, big difference!

However, just thought, there will be about 5 inner ringside seats for Big Fwank and family etc. so about 19 in tiers 1 and 3 and 49 in tiers 2 and 4...

Im not sure if this is the same area within the excel centre that will be used, I dont really get how it works there (Im from North Wales and we dont really have stadiums or arenas or centers lol), but here is a pick of the boxing at the excel centre for the London games!

I went ringside for one of the Khan fights there and it wasn't worth the money, probably better in the cheap seats.

stewards were total arseholes at the Audley Prizefighter.

they kept stopping people from leaving their seats as the fighters came in and out of the ring.

pretty annoying

apart from that , views are ok

its the end of nowhere though

Yes, you need to be a SKY subscriber of boxn@ti0n to get the 10% discount. I am incidently, but didnt know about this offer until after I had already booked the tickets, grrrrrrrrr!

Im staying at the 'Hotel Ibis Budget London City Airport', its a 5 minute walk from the Excel, cost me £140 for 3 in a double room, so £23 a night each http://www.ibis.com/gb/hotel-3578-ibis- ... ndex.shtml

No idea about having a drink beforehand though sorry mate... Would be interested to hear myself :)

If you do book this hotel I would advise adding the 'Easy cancellation' option (it would have only been £19 a night each otherwise). The odds of this event going ahead as scheduled is far from certain!

Just checked on the ticket site and this is basically already sold out now before the press conference to announce it

I think everyone underestimated the interest BJS vs Eubank Jnr would add to the event.

Just a handful of tickets left in each price banding..

There are a few £53 ones left, would I be right in thinking these are actually a better view than the £83 floor ones?

Actually, I think some of the areas haven't gone on sale yet and there's still plenty of the less desirable tiered seats.

Does look like they've sold a few in the past week, though.

Yeah, Tier 1 hasnt gone on sale yet... However, my orginal tickets were actually for tier 1 (they were on sale for a short while), but they then got changed to tier 3 for some reason. The exact same position, just opposite, weird!!!

I'v found the views there to be ok whenever I have been.

In yesterday morning's press conference the promoter of the show said it had already sold 12,500 and Excel had a capacity of 20,000.

With the undercard being announced on Thursday and BJS vs Eubank Jnr as chief support I'd be surprised if this isn't close to being sold out by the end of the weekend.

Should be a cracking night and the second biggest domestic show of the year behind Froch vs Groves II at Wembley Stadium.

If the Excel can be made into a 20,000 seater arena why is there always this talk about it has to be at the Dome or the Manchester arena? Doesn't this put the Excel roughly on a par with them?

No way can Excel be set up for 20,000. Always take tiered seating unless you can afford to be very close to the front, otherwise people constantly standing up just ruins it.

Any idea what the 1st row of tiered seating is like there??? Is it high enough to see over people standing up or is it better to aim for the 3rd/4th tiered rows because they're higher????

Also, to anyone who has been before, any idea how far the first row of tiers 1 and 3 is from the edge of the ring when directly opposite (Im guessing about 10 metres)??? And also tiers 2 and 4 (again Im guessing about 15 metres)???
