* Pacquaio looked very good in his last fight, dominating a top 10 P4P opponent
* Roman Gonzalez is underrated and in his prime
* Andre Ward hasn't fought in nearly a year and has no good wins in a long time
* Rigondeaux outboxes his opponents without a home ref and extra padding in his opponents' gloves
* Floyd has a MD and a mediocre UD over a five-loss limited fringe contender. Floyd made the opponent wear gloves with extra padding, used an extra big ring so he could run and had a home ref to protect him - if Floyd is P4P #1, then Sven Ottke is the GOAT.

I'm not trying to fool anyone. I explained why in the opening post.

If those two prima donnas were not American, they would be overrated and overhyped.

There are double standards in P4P rankings which favor American boxers.

Floyd is the clear P4P No. 1. It's not up for debate.

Ward is far more proven than that Cuban hypejob Rigondeaux. Rigo will be exposed very soon.

Floyd struggled against a 5 loss fringe contender, needed a shady home ref's protection, demanded that the opponent wear gloves with extra padding, and demanded that the ring be extra large. Maidana was fighting away from his home country in Floyd's home town of Las Vegas.

Pac never demands his opponents wear gloves with extra padding and never has a shady ref to protect him. In his last fight, he travelled across the ocean and dominated a top 10 P4P opponent in that fighter's HOME COUNTRY.

Mayweather's beaten Cotto, Alvarez & Maidana in that time. Mayweather is seemingly judged by a higher standard than everyone else. He has an excellent record and he is clearly the P4P No. 1.

No, he won't be. Rigo is for real.

Rigondeaux wins with superior BOXING SKILLS, unlike Ward he doesn't need to use shady home refs who let him get away with fouling (deliberate head butts, clamping his opponents arms, hitting while holding, hitting off the break, etc).

It depends on how you judge P4P fighters. Floyd is not P4P the best fighter in the world anymore. However his achievements and longevity would have him number one if that's the way you judge.

If you asked me the question - if everyone were the same weight fought each other now, who would be number one it wouldn't be Floyd.

I think largely people will still put him at number one because it's the popular view and seen as automatic. Floyd could fight till he was 70 beating no-one's and still he'd be rated at the top. Some people need to see hard evidence before they believe or in some cases understand something. Until Floyd gets beat he'll always be number one to some.

I also agree that American's often get over-rated or maybe non american's a bit under-rated. That is hardly surprising as the US is the world superpower and everything works outwards of there - it affects peoples subconscious.

Alvarez and Cotto were the real threats. While impressive only because he didn't lose, many boxers have taken on tougher threats win or lose in the last three years

I like the list the only person I would add is Klitschko. probably right after Pac, Bumping Bradley from the list.
I normally would not rank heavyweights in the p4p discussion.I just feel Klit's dominance has earned him a spot.

I think Mares, Ward, and Froch have had just as impressive resumes. Ward and Froch can say they fought the absolute best challenge (each other) that they could. Outside of Alvarez and Cotto, the rest on Floyd's resume aren't that impressive. Victor Ortiz? Robert Guerrero? Neither beat anyone impressive (Berto) to think that they were a real threat to Floyd.

Mares got sparked in a round vs Gonzalez = Worse record than Mayweather.
Ward beat Froch, Dawson (weight drained) & Rodriguez (who?) = Not as good as Mayweather's wins.
Froch lost to Ward & got a dodgy stoppage win against Groves in the first fight = Not as good as Mayweather.

Mayweather is the clear P4P No. 1. No debate.
