I bet that fight don't happen. On of 'em will pull out (or their team will) at the last min (Injury) to be replaced by a lesser quality opponent. Bet you that happens. It's just a trick to sell out the Fury fight. ....watch this space!

I don't care what anyone says, this statement was definitely worthy of it's own thread, directly about the other thread about the fight with the 5 pages. Can we make it a sticky?

I think that's what most boxing fans suspect.

My post has been deleted for some reason from this site. The title was: Billy Joe Saunders V Chris Eubank Jr 'Bet it don't happen'

So blantant. Getting sick of boxing. The only sport where the same levels never fight each other. Both Billy and Chris will spend another 2 to 3 years fighting nobodies!

Same level guys do fight each other regularly, the problem is that people don't seem willing to go out of their way to see those fights. Gonzalez/Yaegashi and Rodriguez Jr/Takayama were both fights at the same level and both of those were great.

I'll admit it happens less and less in the UK and the US but plenty of fights in the lower weights and in Japan and Mexico are the type of bouts you're screaming for.

Don't agree. Was probly a trick to sell out the bill. Now both will fight less quality oppoments plus the big publicity. Big con. If it wasn't that then Eubank is a chicken. I smell a rat though!

I said this would happen. Boxing is crap. I'm going to follow UFC now. Sport is about given the fans what they want. The best compete against the best. It's never ending, watching prospects fighting journymen or old fighters.

It's not Bill's fault but FFS

thread disappeared from last night by the looks of it. Maybe Kugan Cassius asked to get it taken down.....If I was Eubank Jr. OR Sr. I'd be showing that video to my solicitor.

Don't think Eubank would have got in the ring with BJS regardless anyway.

I still expect it to fall through. Ditto for Fury/Chisora. I just think if there's this much drama at the outside, something is going to happen. I said it the other day about Butler's title fight and that's already gone down the pan.

Tete broke his hand, what are they supposed to do, glue it back together? Neither Fury or Chisora have form for pulling out of fights before July, so why would they pull out now? Eubank Sr may decide to pull his boy out, but they've signed a contract, so there's no blame to be placed anywhere other than them if they shitbag their way out of the fight. Fights fall through all the time, we just seem to hear more of it when it's Fwank's show.

This fight won't happen. Billy should forget him and move on. Chris jr is just after the publicity and getting it on Billy's name, plus his dad's.

Its all good looking great in sparring and sticking it on youtube (Froch), but sparring and fighting are 2 different things. He didn't show up so that tells you everything about him. No bottle what so ever. I will never watch that prick after not showing up.

Go back to the Blue Water centre and fight bums.

Im not sure, BJS is quality but i think Eubank Jr will take him and if he does we have a real superstar in the making. Its not just sparing videos he's posting but a lot of the top super middles he's sparred with think he's the real deal. Apparently he gave Groves hell in sparring previously.

Does BJS have the power to take him out? Where as Eubanks power has started showing up and he looks vicious to go with it.

I can't give a specific reason for every fight I think will fall through. I just have my doubts and I hope I'm wrong. Remember the stink after the unification fight with Ricky Burns fell through at the back end of 2012 ? Even Burns and his manager didn't believe the story about the injury. This led to the parting of ways between Burns and Warren. For a variety of reasons, this promoter's main events usually fall through. I think his desire to come out with headline grabbing shows, in competition with Matchroom who are staging mega shows in arenas up and down the country, is a factor, I am absolutely certain that nobody wants the fights to go ahead more than Fwank but its not been happening for a while now. I want to be wrong about it, and I would love to see Fwank get back on top as a promoter. I admire how he has kept going through the difficulties, that takes some doing.

If it doesn't happen it won't be down to Fwank though, I too have my doubts about whether we will see Eubank Jr in the ring come November 29th, my money is on an injury from his fight with Jez Wilson in a few weeks ruling him out, I have no such worries about Fury and Chisora though.

The situation with Vazquez was similar to Eubank Jr, he agreed to come over, they announced the fight, but he hadn't signed a contract. The difference being that by the time they got the contract sorted, he'd eased off in his preparations, so he needed more time, they pushed the fight back blaming diarrhoea, then the video came out of him sparring Ponce de Leon and it blew a hole right through the whole thing, if it wasn't for that the fight would probably have gone ahead, who knows where Burns would be now if it had.

I've not said it'll be down to Fwank. The idea that he sits there announcing fights that he knows won't come off is nonsense, as I said earlier nobody will want them to happen more than him. He is a smart, tough cookie and he will know the reputational damage being caused by all these cancellations on ticket sales etc. He will also be acutely aware that the competition will be laughing their heads off each time another main event gets cancelled.

I would say that by any standard what's been happening with Fwank's main events over the past 18 months does not happen to any other promoter. All promoters get cancellations and changes of opponent, its part of the sport. The general point I was making is that his main events have been falling through for a long time and I don't think the big 3 he announced - Butler/Tete, Fury/Chisora 2, and BJS/Eubank will come off. An appealing fight like BJS/Eubank gets everyone pissed off when it is cancelled but the promoter's main events were falling through most of 2013. Almost all the copperbox show main events went belly up.

Injuries are part of the sport and perhaps Tete has a genuine injury. But there comes a point when the sheer volume of cancelled fights tells its own story. Fwank manages and promotes Chisora; his last five scheduled fights were either cancelled (Fury) or had changes of opponent after the original one/s withdrew for whatever reason (Johnson, Pala, Gerber and Scott). He was meant to fight Wilder and that never came off. Don't get me wrong I am not slagging off Fwank for the sake of it - during that run of fights Fwank has got Derek the European title, had him headline the shows he was on, and has kept him unbeaten and highly ranked by the governing bodies. For whatever reason, there is a jinx, and what he announces at the outset is not what we get on the night. He's still a good promoter and I bet he works his backside off to keep these troubled shows together.

The thing I do not like is the selling of tickets to fans before fights are contractually signed for. I have a feeling he'll stop that from happening in the future.

If his Nov 29th show holds together I think it'll be the best show of the year in this country. I don't think there is a hope in hell it will but I want it to hold together, particularly as Eddie Hearn and Sky have jumped the shark.

Apparently it's back on. But I've got a funny feeling that it might not happen.
