There is really only one logical outcome to this fight.

Edwin Rodriguez is also on the undercard.

Rubio is very durable, and he's a hard puncher.
I'm not saying he'll win, but he's a live underdog.

Yes, he is very durable and a hard puncher against other fighters. But I doubt very much we will hear the final bell.

A hard puncher facing an even harder puncher. Rubio is in for some serious pain.

This poll rules.
Yeah, Rubio is gonna check what Gennady got and take him out laterz.
Skills pay the bills.

I'd be mildly surprised if Rubio makes it past 6 or 7 rounds.

I'm not interested in GGG/Rubio at all. We already know that GGG beats that level of competition.
However, I'm very interested in the Donaire/Walters fight ... should be the main event.

golovkin by KO. the only Chance for Rubio is that golovkin is overpacing while he beats Rubio up and then has nothing left in the last 2 rounds (the homer Simpson tactic). I doubt it will work though because GGG punches too hard and also has too much skill for him.

Even that won't happen. Golovkin is a relentless machine. He simply gets stronger as the fight goes on. Have you ever seen Golovkin get tired? I haven't. Golovkin has no stamina issues.

I am not saying that Golovkin has any stamina issues or that the fight will go longer than 8 rounds, but have you seen Golovkin fighting for more than 8 rounds ? Have you seen Golovkin's opponent fighting back for more than 6 rounds ? One exception was the Ouma fight, but there were non-boxing circumstances involved.
My prediction is still a KO/TKO in under 9 rounds.

Golovkin has already made plans and those plans don't involve 12 rounds of boxing.

Yeah but have you ever seen Golovkin fight someone who can punch like Rubio? No.

How about Stevens ? I do agree that Rubio has better ring IQ than Stevens, but Stevens punches harder.

Pavlik took Rubio out,
I'd fully expect Golovkin to do the same, in around the same sort of timeframe (dont think he has the power Kelly had, but he will land more and much more accurately)

Pavlik's power is overrated in my opinion (and LOL at people in other threads comparing it to Kovalev's; look at what Pavlik did at 168 and what Kov's done at 175). He was a grinder who enervated opponents with a mix of good power and volume, not someone with very good power who regularly took out high-level opponents fairly early and significantly hurt them with single shots.
I'd be surprised if Rubio makes it out of the ninth or so and more surprised if he does it without being dropped. I suspect the end comes closer to the middle of the fight when he goes down from sustained punishment.

Today was 30-day weigh-in for @gggboxing vs. Rubio. GGG 165, Rubio 174.5. Both were within the rules of where they needed to be.
Would GGG have many problems making 154 if he's only 165 a month out?

Rubio did show a visible bump around his waist during the press-conference.
Golovkin started this camp a little later than he normally does, so he would be even lighter under normal circumstances.

GGG will hit hims so hard he'll turn Rubio white!
(Actually that seems to be happening already.... :P )
