Yeah thought I heard Avalos was Rigo's mandatory as well.

I've posted before. This fight won't happen as Eddie Hearn wants an even split for Scott Quigg.

It should be 70/30 to Frampton IMO as Quigg doesn't bring aything to the table in terms of huge ticket sales and a legitimate world title. Frampton brings the money and I don't think the fight makes anything on PPV outside of Northern Ireland.

I like Scott just stating the facts.

I disagree!

Yes i would say frampton is the bigger name but at the end of the day Quigs promoter holds all the keys to PPV.
lets not forget that if Eddie promotes the fight and puts it on PPV then Frampton will earn at least 3x if not more than he could fighting anyone else.

If you put the fight say in manchester arena ( i believe it holds around 22000) and you put it on PPV then quig/Frampton could get anywhere from £500,000 + each and even allot more if promoted correctly and with cuts in the PPV money. If framton fights another fighter in Ireland he would not get near that money nor would he get the exposure or another belt.

This is just a case of greed if you ask me. They will both get a career high pay day and a chance to move on to bigger and better things as well as give the fans a great fight they all want to see. Why argue over who gets the most????????

I mean you mention PPV. Without Hearn, Frampton won't even have a decent broadcaster for the fight. How many active subs does BN have?

It's not a complete given. I mean going on the fact that Sky are showing Groves's fight now and he's with Sauerland.

Both camps need to look at the bigger picture. This could easily end up being a three fight situation that goes down in British boxing history. Go 50/50 on the first, 70/30 to the winner on the rematch, and if it ends up 1-1, split the rubber match money down the middle.

Rigo, the best in the world, is getting a pittance for the Avalos fight and he's now a free agent ! Frampton and Quigg need to cash in and get this made whilst the timing is right. I agree with the 2 fight deal scenario, it makes sense for both guys.

Fifty percent of a lot of money is better than 80 percent of fxxk all.

Purse bid wins mean nothing, I doubt this fight will happen given Eddie's interest in Avalos, regarding the Frampton-Quigg hopefully that fight will happen but as Eddie said ego's can get in the way, hopefully he'll leave his at the door...

Hatton did just fine in his comeback without sky.

Hatton is a different animal to Frampton - but where does Quigg go without Frampton? Eddie won't stump up the money for Santa Cruz, he doesn't want any part of Rigo, Frampton is their only option, he's gonna have to concede to give his fighter a credible fight.

Leo looks like he'll be off the table for everyone soon, the WBC have just ordered a genuinely brilliant final eliminator between Ruiz and Gutierrez

This definitely

Also even if the fight was in Manchester I don't think it would sell the arena out either. It would do much more than the odyssey but the Irish fans would outnumber Scott's by 5 times or more easily. Anyone who went to McClockey Khan will agree loads came over and brought a brilliant atmosphere much more than Khans fans.

The best thing for Quigg would have been fighting Santa Cruz on the last Mayweather card and doing a job on him ( which I think he could have done) why this didn't happen who knows.

I don't see quigg doing a job on Santa cruz at all. I think he'd get stopped by Leo.

Fair enough that's just opinion I don't think LSC has the power he had at Bantam was a murderous body puncher when I watched him at that weight. When LSC got paid $750,000 to smash someone way way below world level can't see why he would fight Scott Quigg !!

Santa Cruz is a good fighter but a lot of his success was based on a post-weigh in size advantage (more than a hint of the Margarito about him, less crude but I hope you infer what I mean) & anyway, is Haymon'd right up the arse.

Look at his superbantam title fights, they have veered between a complete shower of shite & "sort of acceptable as a marking time fight" but sold as a big test.

As Boxing Prospect says, whoever wins out of Andrés Gutiérrez vs Hugo Ruiz (fvck me that is going to be an awesome fvcking fight) will probably make Haymon shite himself & tell Santa Cruz to do a Peter Quillin & "mysteriously" vacate & go to featherweight to win some interim WBA belt.

In Eddie's column the other day, he made a comment that for me was telling; he said if they can't get Frampton vs Quigg on next, then he will "get Quigg back out again" by the end of the year. I know boxing is primarily a business, but this attitude is part of the problem regarding Quigg's career. You can see now that there'll be another big Matchroom show in Manchester in Nov or Dec, with a combination of Quigg / Crolla at the top of the bill, and the usual prospects extending their unbeaten runs to pad out the bill. And that Quigg will face another inept opponent. I am a massive admirer of Quigg, and I think he's a brilliant fighter, but this WBA title reign is a right shower of sxxxe. He deserves better than this sort of match making and I think the scepticism over his opposition has become quite widespread now.

exactly!!!! arguing over tens of thousands when if you take a 50-50 fight and eddie puts it on PPV you would get hundreds of thousands.

If Eddie cant get Frampton or Santa Cruz for Quigg yet, he should do his utmost to get Martinez. Atleast we can then see how he does against Kiko vs how Carl fared. I wonder though whether Eddie thinks Scott would beat Kiko.

Totally agree, although Kiko would likely have to take a payday with a zero less on the amount, going from facing Frampton as the champ, to Quigg as the challenger.

I was just looking at the WBA ranking to see who Quigg's mandatory is. The WBA top contender is Cermeno. But, the proper WBA champ is Rigo, Quigg is just a pretender. Presumably one fighter can't be a mandatory to both WBA champs ?!?!

Quigg definitely needs a legitimate opponent next time. He and his trainer want it (sounds like Gallagher is frustrated about Crolla too ).

Eddie has to make it happen. Time to stop treading water waiting for the right fights, he just has to get them made.

Galahad can beat both of them on the same night didn't you all know. I think it's fair to say Galahad has now graduated to knob head status.
