Someone told me Nicky's going to get paid £10,000 for that. Not bad pay for a UL show.

If that's true then I'd def do it.... The opponent will NOT be in he's league even if he's passed his best....

Cook should give his ten grand to those who bought a ticket for the Burns fight when he was crocked beforehand but turned up and trousered the money anyway.

I really liked Cook until the Burns fight, he was a good watch. I don't care what he does now but I'd be surprised if anyone would pay him ten grand to fight, where's the value unless you're trying to piss your money away for some reason or other?

Must say ten grand seems a bit much, but Alan mortlock does two or three big selling shows a month. And like I said Nicky is a name that'll put a lot a Dagenham bums on seats. Half that ten g's and I think. Or rather know that's more the sum he'll get. As far as me fighting again. After just working on the York hall show. I don't just think it. I know I could do a better job than some in the away corner. It's only the thought of endless hours on the motorway and away from my missus and kids that turns me off Oh. Plus nigh on every day in the gym

How often are you training now John. Have you kept in shape?

I'm still in 3 even 4 times a week. Don't do too much myself but spend a lot of time with my boy sonny whiting. He is coming along great. Miss fighting like mad to be honest. Nothing to do with cash.

Pass on your experience Johnny its invaluable, you have nothing whatsoever to prove by boxing again.

unless I'm getting mixed up and I don't think I am, Cook fought on the Khan Barrera bill in Manchester a few years ago and got dropped and stopped by some South American fella who ripped him to the body a couple of times for an early stoppage, which I think few were expecting myself included.

Maybe the wrong advice but if I were you johnny, do it why you still can mate.
You have the talent to survive, and they don't come much tougher than you.
Your a long time retired, if the fire is still burning, go for it. Nothing worse than regretting what you didn't do pal.
Of course, if your health is at risk then forget it, but if you can get your licence back I'd still pay to watch you mate.

Thanks too boy brooks & billy Nelson for your comments. Though I'm leaning more towards billy. I'd love to fight again but I was getting hit and having harder nights against lads I was having fun with a little while before. I really hope one day I could earn enough from boxing to give the decorating a swerve and get some more fighters & personal training clients. I've got sonny whiting and am the best spit bucket man around. Haha. You gotta start at the bottom if your ever gonna get near the top.

There nothing wrong with starting at the bottom john, your desire will hopefully get you to the top mate!

Hello billy! I started off in the unlicensed game and still have love for it.but the board doesn't allow pros anything to do with it.ive just started doing a few corners for fw and my pro sonny whiting started off doing well.if he keeps it up he can go on too better things.my future is with the pros tho it's a shame because there's a couple of unlicensed boys I've seen that I like and I'm sure I could bring them on a bit.but I'm more than happy to start at the bottom.training boys is a more complicated job than some think.ive the utmost respect for trainers like our billy Nelson , jimmy Tibbs and all the top men in the game. Carl greaves is a good trainer also and with his help hopefully I can start getting a name for myself.
