I can't find a thread for this, apologies if I'm stepping on anybody's toes, but is anybody watching this card at Wembley?
Kal Yafai was the guy who won that one :)Neil Gee wrote:I can't catch the name of either of the fighters in the first bout, but the British guy just won the super-flyweight IBF International title, whatever that is.
Campbell stops him, Michael Alexander jumps in far too early in the 7th.Neil Gee wrote:Campbell not looking devastating but Szot is an ace survivor. This is going to go the distance.
How do you think Groves will be after Froch knockout? Will it affect his confidence and how much?
1/14 for Groves outright. I've used Betfair to lay him at that.Neil Gee wrote:What sort of odds are we talking about?
Groves really fooled me last time out, I believed him when he said he had been stopped unjustly in the first fight and I expected him to carry on with the same level of self-belief in the rematch, but obviously he didn't.expe wrote:Campbell stops him, Michael Alexander jumps in far too early in the 7th.Neil Gee wrote:Campbell not looking devastating but Szot is an ace survivor. It might affect Groves, but once he takes a couple of shots he'll be fine.
Yeh it does sound ludicrous looking at Rebrasse's record, they say he hasn't faced anyone of Grove's class but the only real proof we have of Grove's class are the two matches with Froch. Is this the same Groves?Boxing Prospect wrote:1/14 for Groves outright. I've used Betfair to lay him at that.Neil Gee wrote:What sort of odds are we talking about?
2/7 for Groves by stoppage.
Pathetic odds.
Do you only get title shots for winning in style now?ikorolev wrote:I can't believe how unimpressive Groves is against this B level fighter. Anthony Dirrell is right: Groves doesn't deserve a title shot at this time.
No, you are supposed to be getting title shots by beating top 10 opponents, and when you fight nobodies, you need to at least look good.SNG wrote:Do you only get title shots for winning in style now?ikorolev wrote:I can't believe how unimpressive Groves is against this B level fighter. I couldn't give Rebrasse a round because he didn't do enough offensively, though he was tough and countered competently. I gave him a share of the last but couldn't say he won any of them.Boxing Prospect wrote:I think I must be generous, 7-3 Groves
Is this not for some intercontinental belt or something, isn't he top ten in that belts rankings?ikorolev wrote:No, you are supposed to be getting title shots by beating top 10 opponents, and when you fight nobodies, you need to at least look good.SNG wrote:Do you only get title shots for winning in style now?ikorolev wrote:I can't believe how unimpressive Groves is against this B level fighter. I am talking about a real title shot. WBC is now expected to order Dirrell to defend against Groves.SNG wrote:Is this not for some intercontinental belt or something, isn't he top ten in that belts rankings?ikorolev wrote:I can't believe how unimpressive Groves is against this B level fighter.
