Agreed. On paper it's a decent fight, in reality it could be dire.

I have been trying to figure out why Fwank would match two of his own fighters at this level. If Frankie loses, its knackered his career and ended his world title plans. If Skeete loses, that's three years of careful building down the pan.

Because hes a promoter and part of promoter is building cards with competitive interesting fights which this is (granted I accept stylewise it might not come off but on paper its a very good fight).

If Hearn ever (which is doubtful) put two fighters he had in similar positions against each other people would be ranting and raving over how great it is they are going in together, but when Warren does it people question the motives?

All promoters are cautious about doing it, which is common sense, it isn't a go at Fwank. I just don't see the point of building a fighter and putting him in with one of your own, if you can help it. You can build a card with competitive interesting fights without sacrificing your own prospects. I think the answer to my own question is that the board mandated the fight and Frankie won't vacate, so it has to happen.

This card is looking better by the day! Skeete v Gavin might surprise a few people and end up being an entertaining fight. Both of them have a decent fanbase, so it will sell tickets.

The cynic in me thinks the card is being stacked because even the promoter expects the inevitable cancellations. I hope it holds together though, (a) for the fans and (b) for the promoter, he's had his fair share of stick. I heard he got an ovation from the assembled media for holding together the Manchester show after Chisora and Fury separately withdrew. I'm sure nobody wanted to see the fight happen more than him.

I'm not particularly worried about Fury and Chisora, neither have any major record for pulling out of fights, Sykes and Walsh should go ahead, although Walsh has pulled out of a fair few fights in the last few years and I don't think there will be many problems when it comes to Gavin-Skeete. I'm not sure whether Saunders-Eubank happens though, I can see Eubank's team pulling him out of the fight with a bullshit excuse, it's a big step up for him to make at this stage.

I always said to and about Bradley. He would start looking better against lads coming to beat him. I prefer to see it as a fighter at European/World level, as his last fight showed, against a fighter unproven at domestic level. It's a complete mismatch, Skeete has nothing to trouble Gavin with and it will show on the night.

Skeete hasn't really been boring since the Lynes fight has he. The 'Skeete's boring' tag frankly is boring now.

Still don't think he troubles Frankie though.
