The fight is this weekend as i'm sure most are aware. How do we see it going and what do you think Paul's and Joe's tactics for the fight will be?

probably the usuall underdog tactics fighting away from home against big name
dont throw much and try and get to the alter rounds but eventually get taken out in about 6 rounds
Really not intrested in this fight , cant see anything but a stoppage for Abraham
it is a totally underserved shot and hes been lucky getting this chance/ Payday
i dont think he has a shot at winning this though , nothing hes done previous stands him in stead for this one.
good luck to him though

I have a feeling that they might try and adopt the tactics that Stieglitz did. Try and set a very high work rate which can work against Abraham who has a very low workrate on the whole.

Early on I think Smith will throw few punches and keep moving side to side and try to make Abraham miss in the hope he gets frustrated and makes mistakes that he can capitalise on.
But I don't see it working as Smith doesn't have the footwork or head movement to avoid Abraham for 12 rounds.
Hope I'm wrong tho as it is always nice to see a British fighter cause an upset overseas

Joe is normally good at coming up with a fight plan. This will be Smith's only crack at a world title so be great if he could do it, I think Abraham would win 9 out of 10 fights v Smith, so lets hope this is that 1 in 10.

I hope he does it, but think Abraham will win inside 8.

One of the least deserving British world title challengers that I can think of. I imagine he gets stopped but any success he might have will be down to how fair Abraham has slipped and how ineffective he is at the higher weight.
I saw Barry Hearn describe Paul Smith as an old school fighter. I fail to see a single attribute in Paul Smith that could be described as old school?

Maybe he meant to say he looks old versus old school. He looks about 40 odd.

Big ask I think but he won't be way out his depth. I don't like the fact he's stated & is kind of relying on Abraham being faded. I think knowbody doubts Paul smith as much as Paul smith! I hope he does it.

abraham wins buy mid to late KO I think. Having said that I have a sneaky feeling Smith may do ok and its his best (only?) chance of a world title. Best of luck to Smith though - be good if he won.

I dont think Smith can outbox Abraham for 12 rounds without Arthur eventually catching up with him and stopping him so in my mind i reckon Paul should come out the traps flying like Stieglitz did in the second fight and hopefully catch Abraham before he warms up as its well known he's a notoriously slow starter, its a dangerous tactic but one that can work if Paul can rough him up
On the other hand,if this fights been in the pipeline for so long, why hasnt Smith had some decent tune ups?
He's barely fought the last few years and since Groves, its been mostly been 8 rounders against guff, hardly ideal prep for a title shot and the main reason why Abraham probably wins

i wouldn't come out firing at Abraham, and I don't expect Smith to do so either.

Nah me neither i suspect Smith will try and box a controlled fight and expect to win on the cards but with Smith's inactivity lately and age,not ancient but his body seems quite ravaged judging by the amount of pull outs he's had the last few years,i cant see him having the speed of foot to avoid Arthur in full throttle which usually happens after the halfway stage
I was impressed with Abraham in the Stieglitz rubber match for the first time in a long while so he def still has some left in the tank and ive never seen anything to suggest that Paul's at his level, while it wouldnt exactly be Honeyghan/Curry all over,id still be surprised
I hope im wrong though and wish Paul all the best

Want smith to win , be rooting for him , but can't help but feel that Abraham would of had have had a bad overnight ageing curse put on him to lose this fight wouldn't he ? .

Typical Matchroom tactic - if he loses before, the title shot goes

Pretty undeserved title shot. I'm busy, so won't be watching.
Good luck to Paul. If he does manage to get the win somehow, I'll probably be disappointed I didn't watch it. A British fighter taking a title, whilst fighting away, against an opponent he wasn't expecting to beat...
Don't see it happening though.
