Realistically, who would you like to see Froch fight next?

I haven't put in the likes of Golovkin as Eddie has made it clear that won't happen, so it is pretty much going to be one of the people in this list. Probably going to be Kessler or Degale.

Personally I'm not that fussed about seeing Kessler fight him again, as good as it was, I'd rather see Degale fight him. You cannot beat an all British title fight!

i think froch vs Chavez Jnr would be a war so went for that but out the rest Degale would do fine

Kessler - No point hes not what he was
Groves - needs a title after a good win but suppose would still be a huge event
Ward - same result again in a boring fight

the rest - no real intrest from me on them

like others have said no interest in kessler 3 , degale could be interesting style wise and bika as crude as he is is very strong which could result in a war

Degale, Chavez Jnr or Bika would all be great.

Kessler = shot to shit
Chavez jnr = could be a fun fight but I think Froch is just too good for him
Dirrell = could be an interesting fight but at the moment it doesnt really appeal to me
Abraham = he would just get outboxed again
Bika = he could make it a tough fight but again it doesnt really appeal
Groves= Groves could win obviously but he'd most likely probably just end up getting knocked out again
Degale = i'm still not overly excited about it but this one is the best of the bunch for me. I think he has the speed and the boxing ability to cause Froch problems like Groves did but he also by all accounts has a good chin to boot which means he's less likely to end up getting chinned like George did.

So to summarise, none of the fights hugely appeal to me but Degale is the best of the bunch .... to be honest even GGG doesnt massively appeal to me because one he's not fought at the weight before so you dont know how he'd fare and secondly even if Froch did pull off the win, would he get that much credit for it or would people just say he beat an unproven middleweight after the event?

I'd like to see Froch ride off into the sunset on the back of a great fight and great win.

He's earnt it; hence why I'd like to see him smash the granny out of Chavez Jnr and then retire.

I actually think Degale could beat Froch and regardless of what happens in that one, it wouldn't be as aesthetically pleasing as the Chavez Jnr fight.

But looks the Degale fight is the one most likely to happen, with Chavez Jnr embroiled in a contract dispute with his promoter, eating uncontrollably and smoking up like a rasta.

Yeah I feel the same way about the Degale fight. As a froch fan and at this stage of his career where he definietly has slowed down a little, it's a bad matchup for him. It would be shit for him to go out on a loss like that. To be honest I wouldnt begrudge him if he decided to retire now after stopping Groves in front of 80k at wembley. No better way to go out than that in truth.

But I just can't see it happening; as you said, Jr XXL is seemingly happy on the burrito y chronic diet & I have a hard time imagining--after seeing him make his (over the weight) super-middle debut against a middleweight--throwing down with Frotchety, a dude nearly as big as him.

Also, posted yesterday on the "ickle" lad's social meedja:

If I were Froch, I'd retire now. Naff all to prove to anyone, legacy and health intact, and a ton of money in the bank.

But I suspect he'll end up taking the DeGale fight (knowing how much interest and money there will be from a big domestic showdown) and can see him being beaten unfortunately.

Chavez Jr has a cracking sense of style. :-?

Degale for me, he's number one for Froch's IBF, it holds more interest for me, and I'm not really sure why Chavez Jr would be classed as a great win, he's not a great fighter.

I suppose whichever is the best financially speaking is the fight he'll take.

I think Froch beats Degale. Would be interesting fight as Degale does have a lot of skills, just can't seem him having the power to trouble froch + he switches off in contests, which you can't do at the elite.

It may not be as big as Groves rematch but would be as big as their first fight, which was still some occassion.

I know, right? WTF is that, a gold lamé/velvet baseball jacket...?

Also, someone should ask him to keep his mouth closed whilst chewing.

I don't think a win over Chavez XXL Jr would be "great"; I'd just like to see the look on his face when he starts getting the ever-living shite kicked out of him.

I've gone for Degale purely for the fact I can't stand the guy and would love nothing more than for Froch to KO him like he did to Groves. :KO:

It's a shame Ward is damned boring. Imagine how much we'd want to see a rematch if it was Leonard, Toney, Hearns or Hagler? Wouldn't matter if we were sure it would be the same result.

I hate Ward's fights.

why doesn't he insist on going for Ward instead of going over old ground, fight the man that beat the man :bag:

Cos he wouldnt be able to beat him  .... that and Ward has got serious promotional issues going on and isnt likely to be fighting for quite awhile.

Someone send this poll to Carl. Apparently hard core boxing fans dont want DeGale fight. Clearly he is getting wrong messages.

From that list I would probably pick DeGale(only because I know there's no chance of him fighting Ward), but I'd much rather see him fight Golovkin.

Not sure quite how big a degale fight would be, he's kind of slipped of people's radar. I'm sure they can hype it, but cannot see people buying into it quite the way they did the groves fight. Problem is Degale is hardly the most articulate (the buture's fright the buture's chunky etc), and so won't sell a fight the way Groves can. I find it hard to see DeGale giving Froch a really hard fight, he's not that great, and he's nowhere near ready for Froch. I think it would be a severe beatdown.

Chavez Jr is no great shakes, but I think it can be a big fight and a fitting end to Carl's career.

The only way a Ward fight would be huge is if he fought in the UK, and I just don't see that happening, he'd want too much money to make it viable. There's also the problem that it would be an almost certain loss on Carl record, which is not a good way to end his career. As mentioned earlier, Ward seems to be in promotional limbo right now, pissing away his prime tied up in legal cobblers. I'm sure Carl knows it's an uphill struggle if he fights Ward again,

Kessler is inactive, and injury riddled there's zero reason to fight him again unless he gets a significant win beforehand. - i Suspect though that Kessler is to all intents and purposes retired.

GGG could be a good fight, but not sure whether he would want to jump up face Carl, I do think it could be an exciting fight, and a very good win, but it's not quite the legacy securing fight Carl would like to have

Retirement isn't a bad option, (thought financially it's not clever), but I don't think Carl is as near the end as others seem to. He's always struggled with movers and slick boxers, but he is still finding a way to win fights and stopping his opponents, which has usually been his way. He's clearly in terrific shape, and seems to live a very spartan life. I think he could go on for another couple of years if he wanted to, so many he could get 2-3 more fights in.

I agree.

I want to see him fight DeGale; from a British perspective, it would be great.

Outside of that, Chavez Jr is probably the most appealing as you know it will be exciting.

Also, Bika from an excitement point-of-view, but he's too crude & would probably be outclassed.

Forget about Andre Ward: Froch doesn't have a prayer against him & I see no point in a rematch, only for the same thing to happen again.

No point in fighting Groves again either; old man Froch flattened the young pretender when he took Groves seriously & got his game back, so there's no sense in a third fight from a fan's perspective.

Kessler has been done to death & is arguably on the way to being shot.
