Is Paul Smith misunderstood?

He comes across as a cantankerous, moody git a lot of the time but one thing I keep seeing and reading in this build up to his fight with Abraham is what a nice guy he is! So yeah do you think that he's actually an alright guy but just doesnt come across the best at times?

I don't care.

He's been a pro for 11.5 years and his best win is a split decision against Quigley.

The hype machine winds me up.

Could be a case of the only ones saying anything about him being the ones who have nice things to say. For those who haven't anything nice to say they perhaps just don't think of him as significant enough to state that he's a twat

After tonights performance a lot of respect and admiration for his post fight interview.

As I said before, I just think he has IBS or something.

Doesn't make him a bad guy.

He's always seemed okay to me. I remember his brief period on here, I wasn't surprised when he left.

Smith used to post on here and always seemed popular, he couldn't seem to take the negativity and criticism tho and ended up coming across as a bit of a tit. However I think he's a model professional, a great family man and a decent boxer and pundit. I've got a lot of time for the bloke. Wish him nothing but the best. I understand why he can get under peoples skin tho but for me pretty much every boxer can't take criticism from people with a comfy sofa and a keyboard.

God forbid people would critique boxing and boxers on a boxing forum.

i don't know the bloke to say anything bad about him, so why would I? I also agree with the above bit.

What's going too far? There are rules on the forum, I know CS is in a pretty shite state but I'd assume they are enforced to some extent on this particular part.

Unless people were breaking forum rules, I don't see anything as being "too far". If some loon wants to come along and say something like: "Hey Paul Smith, you suck, etc....etc", well, it's kind of up to Paul Smith to understand that this is the internet, and people sometimes say unpleasant things and all that. You have to deal with that, I have to deal with that. Everyone else has to deal with that. Paul Smith also has to deal with that.

Wow, reading that back, I hope he doesn't lurk here, take that out of context, find out where I live and come to my house. I'll actually have to put my hands up, I mean, I'll be ok, but it might appear to some that he's beating me while he's hitting my arms.

I'm really sorry. I just couldn't help it.

He's a deep person I think & mentions all the idiots that get on his wick which shows you he is sensitive & does take it all in.
I liked how he fought last night & Abraham was at the races aswell. People can say he's had a hard career & weak at the weight hence the body shots & devalue smiths performance.
