I think you should start asking those who provide scores to state whether they were at the match in person or not and, if not, stating the media platform they watched the fight on. It will help your research because commentary, like advertising, influences us all whether we like to admit it or we don't.

Bobby, why 'should (AA) fight Smith again' when you didn't even have Smith winning and the majority of cards had Abraham up? This has all gotten a bit laughable in my opinion with calls for a rematch abounding based on excessively wide cards that still led to a fair result.

Also, Jonny's score: fvcking fantastic. Just... Fantastic. Has he become an Argentine from the 1970s or something?

I see that, I mean the people not watching at the show should say if they watch on e.g. Sky, ESPN, HBO, Спорт 1, ZDF, etc... as, for instance, in my opinion, last night Sky commentary was extremely biased, whereas Russian TV was neutral.

SKY commentary was dreadful. Up there with the most biased commentary jobs I can remember.

They swooned over almost every fornicating punch that Smith threw and Halling was yelling with excitement when Smith had better moments.

my main call in article is the judges cards being too wide, the ave score was also 115-114 so it was close to merit a rematch

sort the judges first then see if smith merits a rematch

It's not like a rematch would be inappropriate given the bout's competitiveness, but I don't see why Smith 'should' get a rematch. I didn't think he won, nor did 82 percent of the media you polled, and it's not like he was a mandatory challenger or someone who clearly earned the shot.

The 'controversy' and complaining may soon become as over the top as the SKY commentary.

Must have been having flashbacks of his fight with Carlos De Leon.

We have to remember that Smith is virtually a personal friend of everyone connected with the SKY production. He's at the very least a colleague. When your friend/colleague is fighting it's almost impossible not to be biased - human nature.

Almost every round was close and it depends on how you want to score. Remember it's possible to be in a very close fight and still lose 120-108, when you just narrowly lose EVERY round.

Graham Houston is possibly the most experienced out of all those and he had it 116-112, so basically we are only dealing with one outrageous card.

.
Which explains a lot of--no, almost all of--the "media" "coverage" of boxing in this country.

"Here is what my mate thinks about his upcoming fight/here is what I thought of my mate's last fight/please please please keep giving me free tickets".

I expect it from websites, but now it is the done thing on television. An internecine circle-jerk.

Or, if you like, arse-to-mouth-to-arse-to-mouth-to-arse-mouth...

Everything ticking along nicely, then.
